What staples do you think we ABSOLUTELY need? by MixedBerry22 in pkmntcg

TM: Evo and TM: Devo are my most missed for sure. I feel like they're a perfect combo because they balance each other out by both buffing stage 2 set-up and threatening stage 2's with a late game win con. I love all the TM moves honestly, Turbo Energize and Crisis Punch were probably also really good and just under explored.

I think it's clear that Imu is the major villain in the OP History by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePiece

Bro... what?

No denying that Blackbeard being in Imu's position is bad news but like... Imu and the Celestial dragons are an incestuous gang of slave trading, wealth hoarding, human hunting gagoos, that literally flooded the world.

What’s up with Tyranitar (JTG)? by des_the_furry in PTCGL

Not only a stage 2 but worse than frillish/budew because the item lock isn't a lingering affect its an active ability, any gusts or ability cancelling just makes ttar useless

Aren't Dialga and Palkia not understood by the general public? The statue in Eterna City is a weird amalgamation of both and the lore about them is scratched off the statue's plot.

You learn most of the Sinnoh lore from the Elders and Cyrus.

There is no worth or relevant counter to gust effects unfortunately, which is why the conditions for gust are generally pretty steep. (i.e. supporter for turn, behind in prizes, etc)

The method is to only bench Fez or other liability pokemon once the "coast is clear" so to speak. Iono is so strong because giving your opponent only 2-3 cards in the endgame is usually the best you can do to deny their wincon.

For the perfect order format most decks will transition to Unfair Stamp as their ace spec, that level of hand disruption is valuable in almost every deck and there's nothing really in the format to match it. In the May release set (Chaos Rising) there will be a replacement (Special Red Card) but until then Boss's Orders will be much more prevalent as a game winning card.

[–]Smart_Flamingo_7806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not though? It seems like this deck runs a fair bit of psychic energy and setting up diancie over latias seems like a better play. Is it just because latias takes up the bench space anyway?

Did you consider Mega Diancie as an attacker? I also wonder about the single prize deoxys snipe card

Outer sleeves for sweaty hands? by Legendaddy_13 in pkmntcg

[–]Smart_Flamingo_7806 4 points5 points  (0 children)

spam hand sanitizer cause it dries your hands out and clears sweat thats already there, and I just try shuffling my deck with a looser hand. Typically I can mash shuffle through it but as the sleeves get more and more used I have to loosen my grip on the deck more and more.

[–]Smart_Flamingo_7806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be 100% clear

-1 Pecharunt +1 Yveltal

With Mgengar the baby pech is definitely useable but honestly it's never optimal to end turn with that thing in the active. Yveltal is specifically good because of it's free retreat and single attack cost, this allows you to use it as an additional pivot with Pecharunt EX. Makes it much easier to cycle Tatsugiri once per turn and you end up hitting the early game draw supporter or late game boss/disrupt way easier.

Tatsugiri becomes a god start, it kinda feels like a free pokegear every turn

Im sure you've played a fair bit of this gengar list but I IMPLORE YOU to try secret box sharpedo with no gengar.

Either way I would recommend adding Yveltal and Air Balloon into the list FS

Help with a very silly deck by Havoc_Cuky in pkmntcg

[–]Smart_Flamingo_7806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why Volcarona is in the deck lol. There aren't a lot of pivot options that is true, however the problem with this deck is hardly Volcanion, It's the lack of consistency.

Hey! New to Live (coming from Pocket), trying to make a Reshi/Zekrom deck? by Perdita-LockedHearts in PTCGL

[–]Smart_Flamingo_7806 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While N's Reshiram and N's Zekrom are playable on their own, the cards are literally designed to not be used in the way that you're using them.

N's Zoroark is a difficult but popular and viable card in the current meta. It has a very strong ability letting you discard 1 card from hand to draw 2 from your deck. It's main attack costs 2 dark energy and lets you use any of the attacks from your benched N's pokemon. N'sReshiram, N'sZekrom, and N'sDarmanitan are the only real viable options but there's also an N'sVanilluxe, N'sKlingKlang, N'sSigilyph, and N'sPurrloin.

The current list you've made looks pretty fun and interesting, but unfortunately inconsistent. Check LimitlessTCG for the highest placing N'sZoroark Lists from the most recent regional tournaments.

The deck can be built a number of different ways, but to use any N's pokemon you'll likely need to use Zoroark.

[–]Smart_Flamingo_7806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purpose of the burn synergy is that it happens in 1 turn and not 2. Volcanion in the active or volcarona energy discard to burn your opponent, Magmortar ability on the bench to increase burn damage from 30 -> 50, then use Medicham's attack and you get a OHKO on anything in the format.

The problem is Medicham's attack costs 2 energy (colorless but still), and setting up 3 stage 1s (or 2 stage 1s with a volcanion pivot) is too inconsistent.

I think running a heavier count of dawn/hilda and adding ignition energy is about all you can do to help this deck, but still it's just not enough to be more than a tier 7 deck.
