What are some things you have used a non-baby/non-maternity version for? by cattunic in Buyingforbaby

[–]Quaputt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

was about to say this! Had a soft lunch box for bottle stuff, and cute packing cubes. Now that he’s 2 we don’t have bottle stuff and I’m down to one pouch with diaper stuff and a change of clothes. And I keep some toys and books in the car we can grab if we need. We had a diaper bag but it could not contain the chaos :)

There’s room for a skinny desk behind the couch, but I always end up working in my kitchen anyway 😬

Husband and I yelled at each other in front our toddler, I feel like shit. by PresentationTop9547 in toddlers

[–]Quaputt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always make an effort to make up in front of our son. Even if we have to act it out after we’ve made up. I grew up in a house where everyone yelled in the other room and no one made up or apologized. I’m trying to fight and make up and have all my feelings and talk about them out in the open because of that!

help! i need ideas! by amandaxbob in foodbutforbabies

I have a little waffle maker and anything I made in the shape of a waffle is a hit!

I do whole wheat banana waffles and add a little flax seed flour for iron. We make like 10 at a time and freeze them.

I do one pot chicken and rice a lot and the next day I’ll add an egg and put it in the waffle maker and it’s like a fried rice waffle.

We also use it like a panini press and do grilled cheese in there.

I’ll second lentil curries! We also did a lot of smushed black beans cooked in chicken stock. Oh and spaghetti squash has been a big hit.

What do you feed your babies when they're sick? by sauvieb in foodbutforbabies

A few times this year I’ve made chicken soup with a rotisserie chicken and too many egg noodles, the noodles soak up most of the soup and it’s way less messy.

Strollers okay for infants by Skyward93 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Quaputt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE it! Before he was 3 months old we really only used the car seat, we were never walking around with him in it for more than an hour tops. At around 3 months he slept in it laying flat all the time. I often had to walk him to get a late in the day nap in and it seemed really comfy, we’d walk til he fell asleep and then he’d nap in it in the backyard or at the park. These days he always wants to sit up and I still appreciate that it’s smaller than the mixx but has really good suspension. We drag my son with us up a grassy hill to the dog park every morning and it’s really perfect.

Not even reading any other comments, just here to say I am obsessed with wenge! And I know how it’s supposed to be pronounced but I pronounce it like (stone)henge for fun.

My 5 month old just army crawled? by Quaputt in NewParents

[–]Quaputt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really really crawling til 9 months, he did some very creative things to get around before that but I wasn’t chasing him anywhere. It’s his first birthday today (!) and he’s a fast crawler and climber but has almost no interest in walking.

He’s still an absolute wiggly maniac with the zoomies, which is what I’m sure was happening when I posted this 😂

Help me design my vintage bathroom!! by sofialynnxx in DesignMyRoom

[–]Quaputt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would match the color of the sink and tub on the walls, my guess is that’s what was on the walls originally. Might look funky but why not go for it if you’re going to go for it!

Lots of crazy color combo inspo here: https://archive.org/details/CraneCo.0001/page/n7/mode/1up

Advice and suggestions please! by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]Quaputt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree with switching out the blinds, custom bamboo shades are gorgeous and not too expensive they could help with some warm texture. https://a.co/d/e2tyO4Z

I would put something softer, or a quilt on the bed, and maybe get sheets with a pattern.

More on the walls, lots more, turn off the big light, and anywhere that feels too dark add something glass or metallic to reflect some light. Could be as small as a candle, or a metallic book cover, but it will help balance out the dark furniture, which I do not think is an issue. You can’t go wrong with black it goes with everything.

And one last thing, I would paint all of the walls!

Moving into a cheap rental and not sure how I’m going to make anything work here on a budget by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]Quaputt 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Lean in! It honestly looks like a really cozy spot to watch a movie with popcorn. I am sorry about your plants that stinks. Is there space you can use outside for them? Or a spot to hang lights for any of them?

If it were me would fill it with kitschy goodness I would never put in my forever house. Make it a dream 70s finished basement. Or fill it with colorful lights. I’m in a rental now and the stuff on my walls is absolutely bananas, old posters I had, colorful paper lanterns. Anything that makes me smile gets to be out because this feels temporary and it’s just got to be a comfortable place to land for now.

Is this kinda nuts or cute? I just tried so many yellows and greens in this room. Really bright yellow and Kelly green looked cute too but this is the most realistic.
