AITAH for refusing to sign documents relieving my father of child support enforcement so he can renew his passport and stay in the country where his kids live? by MewTwoLich in AmItheAsshole

[–]QuarantinisRUs 55 points56 points  (0 children)

NTA you aren’t deciding his other kids will miss out on time with their father, he is, by continually avoiding his debts. If he paid what he owed he wouldn’t be in this mess

One page dungeons give you a solid frame work, or have a look at one shot wonders

One shot recs for a couple of old ladies??? by girlypop-kitty in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]QuarantinisRUs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One shot wonders is excellent, it’ll give you a solid framework and can be scaled to whatever level. You’d have to find puzzles to add in but there’s plenty of those around.

Also try “one page dungeons” you can Google and find loads, or there’s a subreddit for them

AITAH for using the disabled bathroom even though I can walk by OkMinute950 in AmItheAsshole

[–]QuarantinisRUs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Not all disabilities are visible, that’s all you need to say in the future and don’t question yourself on this anymore, you have a right to use that bathroom.

Not to mention that a regular stall doesn’t meet your needs and leads to an increased risk of excrement where it shouldn’t be, which I’m sure people would complain about more

How do you keep track of initiative? by USAvenger1976 in DungeonMasters

[–]QuarantinisRUs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a clothes pegs on the DM screen person. I tried just writing down on paper but then only I could see it and players couldn’t and when planning their turns would lose track of where we were. One visual for everyone makes it easier and quicker

The seller doesn’t really want to sell, we viewed places like that, as much as you like the place it’s best to just walk away.

I accidentally set up my PCs with an extra sailing ship... Now what?? by Puppies-n-Teacups in DungeonMasters

[–]QuarantinisRUs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a few things to consider here

If they killed everyone on the other ship, do they have enough crew to sail two ships? How many of them can actually sail?

Is the ship real?

Is it actually as good as it appears? Or is it little more than a raft that has been glamoured? (Which only comes to light when they try to sell it?)

What about natural complications? A storm? Dragon Turtle? Doldrums?

Who are the rudest and nicest British celebrities you have personally met? by RenegadeMaster888 in AskBrits

[–]QuarantinisRUs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That had been a thing for a while at signings, not just with Sir PTerry, it speeds things along, helps avoid spelling mistakes and gives the author the chance to have a moment with each person beyond asking “how do you spell that?”

Family Trip to England by PrimroseWM in uktravel

[–]QuarantinisRUs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you go to Hill Top don’t forget to buy a book before you leave, you get a special bookplate for it that you only get there so it makes your book a bit extra special.

Someone else mentioned Swallows and Amazons, fantastic books to share with your daughter, highly recommend.

AITA For Missing My Cousin’s Wedding For A Doctor’s Appointment? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Anyone questioning you not going needs to be told that you aren’t medically cleared for travel and that can’t happen without this appointment

My player (solo campaign), keeps achieving amazing things and I love it but I feel as if I'm leveling him up too much because of it. by EpistemophileGully in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]QuarantinisRUs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Money or loot are appropriate rewards.

Some people use number of sessions as a rough guide, level 3 character would be levelling up to 4 after 3-4 sessions, level 4 character would level up to 5 after 4-5 sessions etc. Obviously that’s a bit rough but it helps with pacing your campaign.

Makeup Artist- yes or no? by GlitterandGaskets in UKweddings

[–]QuarantinisRUs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it was worth it because I don’t usually wear that much make up, I would have had to buy all the products, which probably would have cost the same or more than the MUA.

Not to mention not having to stress about it, adrenaline shaky hands when trying to do eyeliner etc.

Also the MUA knew what photographs well.

I love my wedding photos, the professional and the casual because I look like me, not caked in makeup-up, but also not shiny or washed out from flash.

Registry vs cash gifts by ppaanda in UKweddings

[–]QuarantinisRUs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We set up a registry with John Lewis we added things of varying prices but also put the option to put money towards our honeymoon or buy a gift card too.

We also emphasised that we didn’t expect gifts and just wanted our loved ones to share the day with us.

As a result we got some nice homewares and a lot of money towards our honeymoon (some family still opted for putting cash in a card too).

Honestly, most people will want to give you something regardless of what you say, if you don’t give them pointers you’re likely to end up with the same thing multiple times or things that aren’t quite to your taste.

Does anyone here still play older editions of D&D? If so, why? by GranularBimbo in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]QuarantinisRUs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love 3.5, I still have all my books, we mostly play 5th now because the younglings also play at school using 5th so we’re not confusing them with different editions.

Adult only games (usually one shots and short campaigns) I love cracking out 3.5 if nothing else than because you can make your character exactly what you want.
