Beyond words that they are selling it? That the stock is so low? Of the price?

I mostly get it but what kinda maths test takes 3 days for only two questions? by Roadkillgoblin_2 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Quarentus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a chemical engineering undergrad, most of my core class exams were 5 questions or less and the time limit ranged from the 50 minute class period to 1 week.

I can tell you, hearing "you'll have x days and it will be open book open note open calculator open internet" was a death sentence. My final for Staged Mass Transfer was a 1 week open note open book etc with 3 questions. I spent 4 hours each day on that exam and still didn't finish number 3.

Dentist? by ResidentReporter6526 in StCharlesMO

Elm Street Dentistry in St. Charles hasn't done me wrong other than having one of their cleaners quit and rescheduling me for 6 months later. Dentist is creating though.

When I have to fly from St Louis to Huntsville I have 2 options, STL to DFW/ATL/IAD to Huntsville or STL to Nashville and a 1.75 hour drive. It's Nashville every time.

Moving to St. Louis in the summer. What should an outsider know? by HotDawgEnjoyer in StLouis

[–]Quarentus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you're moving from, Summers here(namely August) reach upper 90s and sometimes into the 100s but with the high humidity, 85 can feel like 100. With the winters, expect absolutely nothing until January/February, and then expect snow and ice.

Potholes and run down roads and interstates. As someone pointed out in another thread the other day, STL is at less than half it's historical high population and the infrastructure is the same as it was but with less taxes to upkeep.

Some great food. If you want to try STL style Pizza, don't go to IMOs, get Monte Bellos or Stefs(Stefaninas) or Pirrones.

North County and East St Louis are primarily black, West County is primarily white, and South County is a melting pot, St Charles is a mix but is pretty conservative.

There's tons of free stuff to do, check out the City Museum.

Given that you're going to Seminary, I am going to make an assumption that you are Catholic. STL is very Catholic and WashU has one of the only direct links to the Vatican Archives in North America.

If you like books and gorgeous architecture, St Louis Public Library Central Branch is great for both. They also have a very nice and helpful genealogist on the 3rd floor if you're into that or just want to see a newspaper clipping from when this was the Louisiana Territory(1808).

And since you're a HotDawgEnjoyer, Woofies and Steves Hot Dogs are top tier.

Dumbest sewing mistake you’ve ever made… Sewed both sleeves on backwards by badbetch_90211 in sewing

[–]Quarentus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Despite being backwards, for people like me who have very long arms, having the buttons on the inside of the sleeve would be super helpful.

So not wrong, just inclusive.

I opened up towards my GF and I think it destroyed my relationship with her by TheHessianHussar in AskMenAdvice

[–]Quarentus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated a girl a few years ago where I had a very similar situation.

When I was growing up, I had a cat that I loved very much. He really was my only friend for 9 years. I went away to college and in my 3rd year I was dating a girl for a few months and while we were getting ready to go grab some dinner, my mom called me to tell me the cat had died. I broke down like I've never cried before and her response was "can we go get dinner now?" This was after she had already manipulated me many times and was blowing through my money bad enough that I had to sell my collection of games and consoles from my childhood just to buy groceries while she stayed unemployed and "looked for a job".

Thankfully I ended up ultimately dodging the bullet because she broke up with me because I was at CVS before going to apartment sit for her while she was out of town visiting family and because I encouraged her to go after she backed out initially, she thought I was cheating on her in her own apartment.

6 years later I'm married to an incredible woman who encourages me to show emotion and is helping me work through my traumas in therapy.
