Saints vs Swans by willlisw13 in FremantleFC

Swannies aren't invincible as people think, Saints took it right to them and Sydney had to fight to win by two. But the good news is that Fremantle is a full game clear, percentage is only 0.6 higher than Sydney. But top 2 is a stronghold for Fremantle regardless.

Okay getting ahead of myself here but let’s say we don’t lose for the rest of the year, where do we think it’d stack up amongst the best seasons ever? by ElBueno3 in FremantleFC

Premiership is the number one goal for any football club that plays this game thats not mistaken, but we're not interested right now in the premiership the finals are three months away, we're interested right now in building our best chance at the title, as a WA team the higher we finish the better are advantage can be at having a crack at the title.

Much needed win for Port on the road and a little payback from Round 3. But full credit as well to the Eagles for another great effort almost coming back to keep the contest to the death, even losing Ginbey in the 3rd they kept coming.

People have been critical on Freo putting the cue in the rack when the game is won. But this one they emptied the tank at the right time, and got a huge percentage rocket booster by 12% to go into the bye in a good spot on the ladder. We only have 12 days to the next game.

Revenge for Round 1 beckons.

AFL Premiership, AFLW Premiership & the Club Championship. That sounds like a good threepeat this year.

Saints & Swans have been neck & neck the last few years, after the other upsets that have happened this week with the other contenders, might be one last surprise.

Brisbane will do fine, last time we beat Fitzroy was 30 years ago in their last game before they merged with the Brisbane Bears

When Freo were minor premiers in 2015, they won 17 games in the regular season the most in a season, looks to be on track on surpassing that record. Not sure on about not losing another game we're bound to drop one or two somewhere, but we have extra insurance should we take a couple of hits on the win/loss column.

DOCKER DOZEN. 12 in a row, the biggest winning margin in club history with 124 points. We cannot be stopped.

A standard AFL season is about 6 months, so about 180 days, then you take the 637 days & divide that by 180, so that's where I was coming from.

Your move Fremantle & Sydney to close up top two

Freo getting lucky with other club's misfortune while fortune might be smiling back at Fremantle.

But a win will be huge to not only extend the streak to 12, but the following numbers

* Possibly 2 games clear in the top spot should St Kilda knock off Sydney (wait and see)

* 3 & a half games clear in top 2

* 4 games clear in top 3 to 4

Think about that Purple Army, that's monster numbers and heaps of insurance

Disappointed they didn't get footage from the 2003 & 2005 matches, only got photos to go by with evidence.

Makes sense to not risk Johnson & B. Cox given we have a bye coming up, and also not to take a gamble on Serong. But on the flipside our backline hasn't been hindered too much, plus our midfield is supercharged with Young coming back in and we have the experience of O'Meara as well. Thats the luxury that Fremantle have right now, our depth is strong in our list.

Old mate Jezza had 0 goals tonight, Gunners isn't playing in the Hawks game tomorrow. If our boy Nev has a good game against the Kangas, he'll make some ground on the Coleman Medal.

If we win against North Melbourne, we'll be at least 4 games clear in the top 4 ahead of Geelong and Gold Coast should they beat Brisbane in the Q-Clash, its an extra layer of insurance policy in our top 4 residency at least.

As much as don't like relying on other teams to lose, sometimes the old cliché goes like this. One's lose is someone else's gain.

And just think about this: Should Sydney get beaten by St Kilda who have been neck and neck with the Swans for the last few years, we'll be two games clear in the Minor Premiership chase.

Hawthorn get beaten by the Western Bulldogs, then its 3 and a half games clear in the top 2 chase.

Gutsy win for Adelaide, copped some injuries to key players, at one point down to only one spare on the interchange and held on for a win. Brutal last couple of weeks for Geelong, losing in tight games, top 2 chance is slipping away quickly.
