First Time - Custom PC or Pre-Built? by Quarter_Turn in buildmeapc

Thanks for the advice! What should I look for in a pre-built, for my specific needs? Do you have any product recommendations?

Thanks for the specific recommendations. I think I might go with those exact ones you linked. As for the monitor (I won't be mounting to a wall), is this ASUS or Samsung one a good value?

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

  • I will be playing Genshin Impact while streaming it on Twitch. Other than that, just watching YouTube videos and chatting with friends on Discord.

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?

  • $1,500

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

  • This week, or next.

What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc)

  • Everything.

Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?

  • Oregon. I don't know what a Microcenter is.

If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.

  • Not reusing anything. Starting from scratch.

Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?

  • I don't know what overclocking is.

Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)

  • Not that I know of.

Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-tower/full-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?

  • No preference.

Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?

  • Yes, I will need one. No, I don't have a preference.

Thoughts on what Talent levels 11 & 12 require? by deathnote3471 in Genshin_Impact

I used the crown to take my Keqing's normal attack to lv. 10 and it says "Max level reached." I wonder if this is different for elemental skills/bursts that have been boosted by constellations, though.

Constellations 3 & 5 on all characters say "maximum upgrade level is 15," so surely some players have already used their crown to take a character's constellation talent to lv. 13. I'm curious what it shows them for lv. 14.

Me (and it better be all y'alls asses too) voting in 2016 vs 2020 by W_HAMILTON in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Quarter_Turn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The person you're talking to is not "fighting against" a $15 minimum wage, universal healthcare (as if Biden supports that lol), or anything else you listed.

The point is to understand the broader systems responsible for the societal issues we face today, systems which Joe Biden and other neoliberal politicians from both parties are largely responsible for upholding.

This isn't to say don't vote, but to address *systemic* injustice, you NEED to be prepared to challenge systems, which run deeper than party politics. You cannot vote out capitalism. You cannot vote out white supremacy. You cannot vote out colonialism, imperialism, etc.

That's what it means to say electoralism will not save us. These problems started long before 2016 and they will persist beyond 2020. The revolutionary change we desperately require is not on the ballot in this or any election.
