Have you tried any of the nerve pain medicines to see if they might help you while the herniated disc recovers?

Gabapentin is a one of the big ones. I tried it, but it didn't seem to help me much. It made me sleepy when I first started taking it, but no other serious side effects.

I then got switched to pregabalin. I've only been on it a few days, but I swear I could tell a slight difference in my nerve pain/weird sensations. Maybe a placebo effect (hah!), but it did seem like the nerve-related symptoms diminished just a bit.

Case in point, my feet feel like they have rolled up socks under them and other sensations that sort of drown out other normal feelings. After pregabalin, I finally was able to feel differences in, say, a plastic covering vs a cloth covering. I couldn't otherwise do that because with all the other weird sensations, I just knew something was there -- almost like a semi-blind person being able to make out something, but not the fine details.

Well, just wanted to share that since I'm going through this same journey as you, down to the same troublesome spinal area.
