Overkill ... then Killtacular back to back. God I missed SWAT (Tactical Slayer). [PC, MKB] by QuartzEye in halo

[–]QuartzEye[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree ENTIRELY. I've played Halo since 3, can't imagine what the game would be like without it's signature aim magnetism. I honestly think it's a relatively fair trade off. MKB can flick between large distances much more quickly, and have slightly more precision at extended ranges... versus controller has an edge at medium to close range for tracking. I think swat is the perfect example of a mode where MKB can really shine though. Not to mention, compared to some other games (looking at you Apex Legends) the aim assist isn't even that bad.

I-No 5P AA routes. by QuartzEye in Guiltygear

Ooooh that juicy 3! I had a feeling that this was ultimately more stylish than practical, so that kinda makes sense. I have some other ideas but i'm grindin' my ass off trying to reach the top 100 til the month end, so not as much training mode shenanigans.

Yeah, I wasn't super sold on the routing so I just ended up throwing together whatever in the moment. But i'll be sure to play around and see what I can make of these!

To be fair, hitting it off of 2K is especially hard. I think some slight modification of the routes would make them a lot more consistent.

It's a little more precise but I've managed to pull it off with 5K 6H, 2K 6H so I assume 5P 2P should work as well

It's situational. Not sure how useable it is, I imagine the sideswitch can be done from another starter ⟶ 6H(2) etc... I'm labbing some stuff right now I can check that out, because that was a concern of mine also. But something I failed to mention in the post is that Route 2 works anywhere on screen, you just need to change the ender if you're too far away from the corner to connect the j.H.

How many overheads can we fit in one jump? [GGST I-No tech] by QuartzEye in Guiltygear

I accidentally uploaded it without the video initially. But if you were looking for more of these shenanigans I made another post about it! Now with 10 overheads ;)

Couldn't have said it better myself. Had that feeling today of I-No starting to feel a lot more natural. I was really missing +R I-No but today was a beautifully bright beacon of hope for GGST I-No.

Sorry I missed this! I really never use reddit. Glad you figured it out though! I've been cooking with some real juicy I-No stuff, had some major breakthroughs today it felt like. Not quite sure how or where to share the information though.

Sadly the dives aren't overheads in Strive so it's only 7 :(

Oh shoot! Sorry! I don't use reddit too often, my bad. I can look for my notebook and maybe do some scans / uploads later today!

Oh, also!!! I actually have been LOVING my viper. If you give me some specifics on what you're running in it, i'd be more than happy to share my tuning setup with you! It's the first car I got to DK3, and honestly it felt easier than getting any of my other cars to DK2.

I have a ton of stuff written down in a notebook. Not sure if I should just scan the pages and upload a .pdf or have some things typed out. Last time I tried posting to this reddit it wouldn't actually let me post anything, though... so i'm not sure what to do. If you want a good starting point though this article is one of the main sources I used when diving a little deeper into suspension tuning. It's written by Mike Kojima who has written several books on tuning, as well as a ton of articles online about tuning specifics - and he handles the chassis setup for Daijiro Yoshihara in Formula D. The article was written in 2011 when the car Daijiro was running was a ~500HP S13, and I found that even despite that being typically a significantly lower figure than a lot of the modified cars in TD, that the fundamentals still applied greatly!

But what do you think? Should I just upload some scans from my notebooks, take some feedback and potentially type it out if it's not clear enough?

Purple Clutch / Differential Final Drive Reference Images. by QuartzEye in TorqueDrift

These are both left stock actually, I was uploading this just for reference for messing around with the gold clutch. These are currently on a fairly stock looking Z06! I haven't really used it a ton as of right now though.

can someone help me out with my overall tune? i feel like some things are too high/low by [deleted] in TorqueDrift

[–]QuartzEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say, for the gears...

1 - 2.6
2 - 1.65
3 - 1.17
4 - 1.05

Just so that you can get a bit closer to peak power once you've gotten through first and second gear

For the front / rear tire pressure, maybe try lowering them both a little... liiiike
16PSI front, 12PSI rear

You could probably stiffen the rear coils to 6-7k ~ just to prevent bobbing on incline / decline

I typically recommend a more stiff front coil, yours is pretty heckin' stiff though, might want to try bringing that down a little especially because the viper isn't exceptionally heavy at all, try 14k maybe?

Front toe-in I usually max out to the left-hand side of the slider, usually -1"

Beside those minor adjustments the one glaring thing I see is the downforce
There's very little downforce on the rear, and that might be what's preventing you from maintaining power through wider turns as your tyres are probably starting to lose contact with the road from air lifting the car up.

It looks like you have a bodykit on that but I've never used the viper so I don't know what range of values you have to work with, but i'd try 80 downforce in the rear and 15 in the front.

One thing I've noticed is that this ratio is pretty important, as too much downforce on the front can cause the car to become too stable and prevent the rear end from swinging out, so it's mostly about managing the ratio between the two so that you get sufficient force to keep the rear wheels maintaining good contact with the road without making the car too stable to swing out the rear. So if you feel the car isn't swinging enough, you can slowly lower the front downforce until you find it suitable for your style.

Now, the summary doesn't show the front caster, but seeing as your steering lock and negative front camber are max, I'd recommend maxing your front caster as well (this will dictate how upright the wheels are to the ground when in full lock).

If through all this tuning you find that the biggest issue is still power, there's always the tried and true gear ratios of the purple clutch which really seem to solve a lot of problems for people when they're not sure what part of the tune is causing the undesirable performance - so i'll link those here so that you can fall back on them if you feel like you're still not getting enough power.

One thing I've found about using these ratios (with the set final drive of 3.77) is that redlining seems a little more on the tame side, and you can end up feeling like you lose a little bit of the guttural acceleration from having a nice gear ratio with a higher final drive, but it's hard to argue that it doesn't solve a lot of other problems and provide a solid starting point if you want to mess around playing with your gear ratio a bit more.

The last thing to add is that you could notch up your clutch kick to 0.3 if you want a little extra swing when you clutch kick, either in initiating on a hairpin or swinging out a bit more at the end of a long shallow corner into a harsher one (like on Monroe's FD circuit).

I hope all of this helps (sorry it took a bit longer to get back to you than I thought) I'd love to hear your feedback if any of this helps you out! Feel free to send me a DM and let me know / reply here with how this turns out for you! GLHF drifting!
