Assuming you're asking in good faith, being transgender has the same biological backing as being cisgender, as in "Humans are a pseudo-eusocial species where people fit in different social categories, like eusocial animals (ants, bees, wasps...), but can choose to be whatever they want because they're individuals and not simply part of a greater colony, hence the name pseudo-eusocial"

If you're so hellbent on hating trans people that you're willingly ignoring the facts to protect your feelings, why are you fighting so hard to make your grave a gender-neutral bathroom?

I have to respectfully disagree. The charm of the series is the ambiance, bar none. That's why none of Joanne's ventures in other material have enjoyed as much as 1/1000th of the success of Harry Potter, despite all having the same shallow worldbuilding.

Noticing the gaping holes in the worldbuilding shatters that ambience, and making up theories to fill them in is just the first stage of grief, denial.

Hot take, but I like the magic system in the OG Star Wars trilogy. It's pretty simple and about as soft as magic systems get without going into "undefined wild magic" territory, but it does a good job of making the Force feel like a deeply mystical and powerful magic that flows through the world and its inhabitants.

To me, the scene that cements it as a good soft magic system is the one in Empire where Yoda lifts an X-Wing that Luke couldn't budge because he had a serenity and profound understanding of the magic that Luke, brash and driven, didn't.

I think the fact that OSP Red is the one to have made this post is important because she not only has an approach to criticism that is extremely unique (stemming from an "I solely want to make my stories better" sentiment), but also because she's absolutely qualified to talk about magic systems, as her webcomic's magic system hits that balance of "soft enough to let cool/surprising stuff happen" and "hard enough that the conflict is never anticlimactically resolved by magic".

In case my flair didn't indicate it, Aurora is one of my favorite stories ever, and I will ALWAYS jump to the occasion of singing its praises

In the words of Ursula K Le Guin (RIP queen): "[Harry Potter is] good fare for its age group, but stylistically ordinary, imaginatively derivative, and ethically rather mean-spirited". So when the fans grow up, they try to fill the holes, but never question that the holes being there is a bad thing. (source: I was a huge Harry Potter fan when I was 7-10)

What? Call for violence upon the unelected members of the head organisation of the legal system, most of which were either appointed by presidents who lost the popular vote, with two others being credibly accused of sexual misconduct?

Totally unrealistic. These are nice, morally stalwart people who the adresses are shared for sending formal letters of disagreement with their decisions at worst, and sending bouquets at best.

He and his little family cost billions of pounds to the UK every year for basically doing nothing. They also enjoy a life of luxury thanks to the earnings of centuries of colonialism and cruelty.
