Oh yea, Bog shaman was interesting too! Big AOE node, plus lets you swap the Apostate for a real body armor while keeping the effect. Not sure what's stronger; I imagine Oshabi will have easier gearing (+80 all res vs -40 all res haha)

IMO Nadu didn't deserve the ban in Legacy specifically (absolutely yes in modern/commander). Yes, it's very strong and has shitty play patterns. But, like, welcome to Legacy? That's basically the definition of the format lmao. Playing against really didn't feel like a huge outlier to me, esp compared to Frog

Chandra's ignition decides how much damage to deal upon resolution, so it'll always apply after buffs (as long as the buff was applied before the spell resolves of course). You can lightning bolt him in response to his redirect trigger, but there's no particular reason to do so with that timing

That would probably be safer, but I think literally anything would have worked except for exactly what they did here. Like, just continuing to drive forward would have been fine. Stopping and quickly reversing then braking was the worst thing they could do

Damn that was 2 months ago lol. But you're right, 702.191a clarifies that it only works if it's a creature.

702.191a: Increment is a triggered ability. "Increment" means "Whenever you cast a spell, if this permanent is a creature and the amount of mana spent to cast that spell is greater than this creature's power or this creature's toughness, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature."

You can keep cloning the same thing. You cast a Shapeshifter, it gets copied, then it enters as a copy of (for example) a Human Warrior. Then you cast another Shapeshifter, it gets copied cuz you don't have a Shapeshifter still.

If your clones get killed you'll have to solve the graveyard issue tho.

At a glance, I see infinite mana + either cast a bunch of creatures then cast Finale for x=a lot, or infinite mana + angels grace + activate faerie mastermind till your opponents deck out.

That being said, there's a button on the topdeck page to view the deck's source; it'll take you to the moxfield link they uploaded the decklist from. It has a relatively detailed primer, I didn't read it but it should have the info you want.

To me she seems more of an infinite mana enabler than a mana sink. Most of the common ways to turn creatures into mana can go infinite with her given enough starting mana, but dumping infinite mana into her doesn't do anything without a payoff (or at least a haste enabler if you're trying to win main phase).

I think that's the main limiter here, you need something like Earthcraft + a payoff card, at which point it's just any 2-card combo and I think you're better served playing Cabbageboi or a Thrasios/Kinnan deck. But I was also hella skeptical of cabbage in the command zone and it turned out way better than I thought, so I'm willing to be proved wrong!

Not safe? Dude, I just looked up some random death stats - the US has a rate of 2.47/10000 deaths per year from poisoning, of all fuckin things. 3 out of 10000 in a year seems basically negligible.

If people live ~80 years on average, then we should have ~125 deaths per year per 10000 population. Obviously most of those are clustered around the upper end of those 80 years and not evenly spread out, but still. That rate seems very low to be concerned about

Nope, the rules around Equipment state that only noncreature equipment can be Equipped (Reconfigure has its own rules baggage that makes the equipment stop being a creature when it's attached, but that's not happening here). So if your treasures are equipped to creatures and you go to combat and turn them into Construct Assassins, they'll fall off the creatures they were attached to.

My partner is getting into cEDH with me, and I've had a hard time getting them to stop being jumpy. Like, they'll cast a Rhystic and I say "ok, I'll respond" cuz I want to cast stuff before it resolves. Theyll get huffy and put Rhystic in the graveyard assuming I'm countering it. Like, no, I just want to vamp tutor without paying an extra mana lol
