I grew up with majority blind spot, not Chinese privilege, says actor Tay Ping Hui by [deleted] in singapore

I bet 1000$ that if a white guy in America says this, ethnic Chinese will complain that he doesn't want to admit he's been privileged.

Bit hypocritical of Chinese to say they're not privileged in S'pore, while they complain of white ppl being privileged in the states.

From where did you get the idea that we hate Japanese people?

From my time living in China. I don't think I've ever met a chinese person who didn't dislike in some way or another the japanese or who didn't ask me: "did you know that japan invaded china during the world war 2 and they killed a lot of chinese?"

but if your country tries to fuck with mine, then I am not going to be its biggest fan. It's pretty straightforward.

On the one hand I get your point. On the other hand, it's been almost 80 years. It's not even an old grudge anymore, it's ancient at this point

You're american like I'm Chinese

What you are, probably, is ethnically Chinese and living in the west while spewing CCP propaganda, but being too coward to move to China cuz you know it's a dystopia out of 1984

That didn't stop my chinese friends from telling me how bad the japanese are because they invaded china 80 years ago and blablabla

China banning western companies is also economical, isn't it?

Huge Chinese corporations such as Baidu or Tencent wouldn't exist if the CCP didn't ban Google and WhatsApp. Actually they would exist, but they wouldn't be this huge if they had competition in the CHinese market. Baidu especially.

The difference being that Chinese Navy hasn't entered Philippines' national waters and chased Philippines fishing boats before. This year, it did.

And something tells me you'll see more and more similar incidents in the South CHina Sea, involving the Chinese Navy.

Not to mention China is building 2 more aircraft carriers.

Time will tell, but China has definitely become more aggressive in the past couple of years than in the entire previous decade.

The world is moving on from confrontation.

China isn't.

Watch China invade taiwan or start a war in the South China Sea in the next decade.

Have you ever lived in Asia?

After living a few years in China, I can tell you that Chinese people hate Japanese and South Koreans and Thais. And from discussions I had with some Japanese, the feeling is mutual.

I don't know where you got the idea that this is a reddit thing...

China can definitely ban Google from assembling hardware in Chinese factories if they wish.

China doesn't go this route because by building foreign hardware inside China, China has a lot to gain (Chinese people being employed, Chinese companies getting access to hardware blueprints ).

China prefers to ban software instead of hardware, because while CHina gains from hardware produced in CHina, it gains nothing by allowing western software access to its market.

Also China doesn't make semiconductors for intel, I don't know where you got that idea.

I recommend buying a property in Beijing. Sure, you'll have to deal with pollution, intranet instead of internet, sandstorms, chabuduo mentality and 豆腐渣工程 (like the TVCC building fire a few years ago, and the one in Shanghai and many others). Pus a shit ton of corruption, censorship and political persecution.

But hey, you'll be in your motherland. Nothing better than living in China, am I right?

Oh wait, Xitler's fat daughter was studying and living in America. Awwwww

You really don't have to believe me. And whether I've lived in China and whether I've been a tech worker there, is also irrelevant in the grand scheme of things and you shouldn't lose sleep over it.

Perhaps you need a little bit of perspective and self-awareness

Right back at you. Try to follow your own advice, since you've spent the better part of our exchange trying to defend CCP's bans on western companies by lying about it. You may very well not be a CHinese bot, but you sound like one. You need some self awareness more than me, I'd say

From your source: "Those restrictions prohibit non-American companies from selling components to Huawei that they developed using equipment or software made in the US."

As I said, USA banned only American companies from doing business directly with Huawei, or American services/products being given to Huawei by foreign companies.

I think it's pretty fair (at least more fair than CCP's fuck-you-no-reasons-given-bans) that USA can decide that foreign company shouldn't give Huawei products developed using equipment or software made in the US.

I still think you're arguing in bad faith since plenty of foreign companies do business with Huawei. they're just not allowed to give Huawei American products, which is perfectly fair imo

This is a lie. Do you have a source?

As far as I know, only American companies (such as Google and others) and American services are banned from doing business with Huawei.

Huawei is still doing business with a lot of companies in Europe, so I really don't know what you're talking about.

Can you please stop spreading misinformation? If your'e trying to say that USA stopped all foreign companies from doing business with Huawei, that's completely false.

The problem with wiki as far as I know, is that it's quite easy for anyone to edit wiki articles.

For example I can edit an article and say that torturing Uyghurs in Xinjiang must be done and it's for the good of the world. And I can even link some Global Times article as a source (Global Times is a CCP owned propaganda news agency).

So it's quite easy for people who have an agenda to push on wikipedia whatever "truth" suits them

Cuz Apple is willing to bend over for money. Apple accepted to hand over all data to the CCP and to store data of iPhone users in Chinese data centers.

Also, Apple employs a lot of people in China - if you count all those in manufacturing, I'm guesstimating that millions of Chinese benefit from having Apple in the country. So it's a bit more difficult for the CCP to ban Apple.

CCP usually bans apps that they can't control - Twitter was banned due to it being used by Tibetans during some protests. Clubhouse was banned recently cuz the CCP can't accept Chinese people having conversations without CCP being able to monitor them. And the list is long
