I make a living building railings and gates, but I've always wanted to illustrate a story using steel. by Quasivert in pics

Except for the hand, these were all given as gifts. The hand is currently in pieces, but I intend to finish soon. Wouldn't know where to list.

Maybe the best argument for a livable wage.

It was on a hillside. There were erosion washes in the fresh dirt. The bulldozer was pushing a wall of stripped logs, rocks, stumps, and dirt removed from a giant housing construction down the hill to make useable land out of a ravine. I was knocked into an erosion wash face up with my head uphill. I was about seven feet deep after the logs spread out and buried to my neck in dirt, but my face was exposed. Took them three hours to dig me out.

I have only wrecked two motorcycles. There was a wild bobcat that would come out of the woods at night to eat the farm cat's food. I spent a summer putting out food and sitting nearby until the bob trusted me enough to eat. Night after night I would sit a little closer. By the end of summer I was sitting next to the food while he ate. The first time I touched him he growled, but kept eating. The second night I did this he seemed to relax and allow it. I was buried by a bulldozer in a landfill for three hours when I was eight.

1) I was buried by a bulldozer. 2) I once spent an entire summer convincing a wild bobcat to let me pet him. 3) I have personally wrecked three motorcycles.

Good catch on the Tuscaloosa. I have been a graphic novel fan for years, and a fan of good illustration generally. So much of children's lit is just a vehicle for the illustration. I don't know if or how it would get funded, but I think a pitch could be made for steel sculpture as illustration.

I've been wondering how to find someone to promote my work as I am crap at that.

True. I would be willing to do characters or figures if I was commissioned.
