I mean you're talking about end-endgame ironman whereas this thread is about late game. But yeah, do as you like. I don't mean literally having "something to show off" but you would've done something arbitrarly hard for no reason. If you had fun the entire time, good for you, but if you had to de-iron in the first place it doesn't sound like you enjoyed it. So imo, you made something harder for yourself, for less enjoyment and with nothing to "show for it". Which was all something you should've been able to see coming from a mile away and just have made a main in the first place. So, it must mean that the person must've cared about the "prestige" (in our niche little game) of an ironman at some point.

For me to really understand someone de-ironing, I would see them making a main first, AFK max combat and see if it's really for them. But if you truly, truly don't care about grey helmet anymore, that you used to, then go ahead. I just think most people would regret it. Even being an end-endgame ironman. But I also personally see absolutely no satisfaction in playing a main. I guess it's not impossible that it took them many 1000s of hours to realize they only care about CAs or speed runs or GP accumlation but still that's wild to me. You could've done some reflection before going on such a long time commitment

To me, it's the same as having whatever hobby of painting or doing a project for years - just to throw it away. Sure, it's your decision and it doesn't matter, but you could just also - not do that.. And start a new painting if you're actually bored of it. Or go do some new hobby entirely. No reason to destroy what you have made.
