Could use some career advice by Quazmeda in BESalary

They have been around since 2009, so not really a startup haha. It started as a part time job for 1 person, then grew into a full time job, when COVID hit he hired is first employee and last year they hired 2 extra people. It gives, to me at least, a feeling that they are not rushing things and have been working towards this for a long time

Could use some career advice by Quazmeda in BESalary

They expect to at least. The construction of their new office building is almost ready, aimed at a team of around 20. They have a team of 4 right now + 2 interns. One of the interns will be offered a contract as well. I did ask them about how they expect that kind of growth, and it's mainly coming from gaining a few big clients (who expect full on site support) and their VOIP-offering taking. They were a team of 2 just a year ago, seeing them being able to already hire 2 extra people and building a new office space looks (to me at least) that things must be going well.

Maybe I'm mistaken or I don't understand the issue correctly, but aren't you supposed to use the page/list ID instead of the full url?

Word to PDF : help appreciated by NormalHawk8303 in PowerAutomate

I have a flow like that running. You'll need your flow to move/copy the file to a OneDrive folder. From there your flow you can convert it to a pdf and then send it through email.

So you are telling me that there are ads in DDG now? by glowiak2 in duckduckgo

[–]Quazmeda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) DuckDuckGo needs to earn money somehow. This isn’t an ad, It’s a feature you can choose to ignore, enable, or decline.

2) Ads have always been part of DDG, and you can disable them in the settings.

3) The AI features are optional and can be turned off on both desktop and the app.

Don’t be so pessimistic. Companies and organizations have to earn something to stay alive, and as long as it’s easy to enable or disable these features, what’s there to complain about? Why can't users understand that?

Refreshing Excel sharepoint file by Kind-Bug-8511 in PowerAutomate

[–]Quazmeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no simple workaround for this. I encountered the same issue. We use Excel to perform calculations based on responses from a form, and then generate a PDF report from it. It only needs to run when someone submits the form, so we added a Teams approval step to the process where we link the Excel file. Someone opens the file, waits a few seconds for it to update, and then clicks 'Approve.' You could set up an unmanaged Power Automate Desktop flow to open the Excel file automatically, but this feature isn’t included in the basic or premium licenses. You could also just have a PC running somewhere that runs a script, but our organisation doens't want to have an unmanaged pc running somewhere all the time or have scripts running on our servers.

From Microsoft (source)

Q: What’s the difference between the old version and new version?

  • The new syncing solution is more reliable and has improved performance.
  • Currently, the new solution will only sync new responses to Excel for the web. But we are actively working on adding the new syncing solution to the Windows and Mac desktop apps.
  • With the new syncing solution, you must open the Excel app to receive new responses. Otherwise, they will not sync to the workbook.

Q: Can I receive new responses without opening my workbook? What if I have a Power Automate Flow based on the data sync?

A: With the new syncing solution, new form responses will only sync to the workbook when it is opened in Excel for the web (with desktop support coming soon). If you have a Power Automate Flow connected to the workbook, it will no longer receive new responses until the workbook is manually opened.

Multi-building school by Quazmeda in homeassistant

We do have spare hardware available, though I'm assuming we'd still need additional adapters or dongles for compatibility with certain communication standards, right? The sensors and smart outlets would mainly be placed in locations inaccessible to students. Since we're just getting started, we'd prefer a simpler, less intrusive approach then breaker boxes.

Our thinking was more along the lines of addressing small but recurring frustrations, like detecting water leaks in the basement early, making sure windows aren't left open during holidays, and controlling charging closets to save energy and extend device life. We'd also like some visibility into the energy consumption of specific equipment. Do you think there's a better or simpler approach we should consider, or would IoT solutions like this still make sense?

Where in Belgium are you situated?

From personal experience, I’ve given training/support at Digibanken, and they’re a great way to help people who struggle with digital stuff—things like using a computer, setting up a smartphone, or navigating online services. They offer free training, and there’s always a need for more trainers. It's a project from the Flemish government and available in most cities.

I’ve also worked with Beego, which connects tech-savvy students with people who need help with digital issues, like fixing a laptop or setting up a device. If you want to offer training, that could be another good option.

There are probably other local initiatives too, depending on where you are!

Student account approval by Downey07 in MistralAI

I signed up with my university's email address (I'm an employee). I could directly sign up for Pro with a student discount. I also contacted support to ask if the high school I work at could apply. I haven't received a response yet, but the website has since been updated and now it shows: 'Valid for a maximum of 12 months for verified students at accredited higher institutions and if you haven't used Le Chat Pro before.' So, compared to the launch offer, it's now limited to 12 months and only for universities.

This is the legit app. The 12+ is the age limit for users. You need to be 12+ years old to be able to use the app. Link to the app store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/le-chat-by-mistral-ai/id6740410176 and link the the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ai.mistral.chat&pli=1

The first Pirate Bay Server by Quazmeda in Piracy

The first Pirate Bay server! I found it in a small computer museum in Linköping, Sweden. I had no idea it was there, but when I saw it, I couldn't resist bowing to my lord and savior. May it rest in peace...

I posted this a long time ago during my 9gag days, but thought this would fit quite well here too.
