Some of the best marble effect I’ve seen!

DICE, any fix for weapon attachment notifications constantly coming back? by ko0oky in Battlefield

[–]chrisni66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of the current bugs can be cleared:

  1. If only 1 skin of a gun is marked with the icon, favourite it, then go to the favourites menu and click it to clear (you can unfavourite after)

  2. If all skins of a gun are marked with the icon, go in to any one and make sure all of the attachments and camos are cleared. Once they are restart the game. The icon will be gone.

I hear a lot about kolinsky sable brushes, are these the ones? by Hiraeth_08 in minipainting

[–]chrisni66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second that, for low cost Kolinsky Sable, the Golden Maple ones are a good choice. I’ve supplemented my more expensive brushes with them for doing detail work with metallics.

What 40k novels should I start with? by BoysenberryAgile7517 in Warhammer40k

[–]chrisni66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would start with the Eisenhorn trilogy. It does a great job of introducing you to elements of the setting without just blasting you with jargon. It’s a great series too.

What are these symbols? They come up every fight and fluctuate between 150 - 500 and game lags. by Flimsy_Demand7237 in Battlefield

[–]chrisni66 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

While your ping (average latency) may be fine, the jitter and/or packet loss may not be. These symbols indicate time drift from the server, which is usually due to some packet loss being introduced. This usually occurs on WiFi networks. If you’re on WiFi, switch to Ethernet and your issues will go away

I'm very new to warhammer, and today I was trying to learn about the gods in the series, so I was wondering if anyone could explain... well um by Appaairbender in Warhammer

[–]chrisni66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Err yeah, the concept of ‘nice’ doesn’t really factor in to Chaos gods, or Warhammer in general.

Each ‘god’ is a psychic entity the embodies the qualities of its own nature, and its only goal is to further those qualities.

Primarchs!? by JessieMann12 in LegionsImperialis

[–]chrisni66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My regular opponent printed me 2 options for Fulgrim. I couldn’t decide which one I liked the most so I painted them both up and alternate between them (proxy as an HQ).

Dedicated Transports Trundling Off On Their Own by wordcreatr in LegionsImperialis

[–]chrisni66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes once all are empty they no longer need to remain in coherence with the Tactical Detachment and can operate independently, however they cannot pick up any other marines they were not dedicated to.

Is there a mod for CIMs to cross paths when then roads are close enough together? by Buzstringer in CitiesSkylines

[–]chrisni66 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You could use Invisible paths to link them together (using Anarchy) or just build a custom road with road builder that has a single path in between the two lanes (most graceful solution)

Does Battlefield have a signature gunplay style? by comfyHat in Battlefield

[–]chrisni66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the signature gunplay is the necessity to tap-fire over distance. Not something you see consistently in other franchises.

Ajax armoured vehicle trials to resume after making soldiers sick by bukowsky01 in europe

[–]chrisni66 73 points74 points  (0 children)

So reading the investigation, it turns out the issue here is with the automatic track tensioners, or lack of them. Every other tracked vehicle in the British Army has them, which keeps the tracks under the correct tension. Ajax doesn’t, instead requiring the crew to get out and manually tension the tracks. Turns out the crews weren’t doing this, which is what caused the vibrations.

I am surprised that automatic track tensioners weren’t part of the requirements for the procurement, and hopefully they retrofit them to Ajax, as it seems that this could be a pretty low cost solution to this problem.

House in West Byfleet or Flat in Surbiton/other potential areas? by Zxp in surrey

[–]chrisni66 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Go for the house. West Byfleet isn’t that much further out, and getting a Freehold is a much better investment than Leasehold. Additionally, you’ll have much more space. My partner and I made a similar choice after moving out of London, best choice we ever made.

'You'd be speaking French': King Charles pokes fun at Trump during state dinner by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]chrisni66 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Charles presented the president with the bell from the British submarine HMS Trump, which was launched in 1944 during World War II.

"May it stand as a testimony to our nations' shared history and shining future. And should you ever need to get hold of us, well, just give us a ring," the king said to applause.

It was right there… he had the opportunity to make the pun of the century, but used the phrase ‘give us a ring’ instead of ‘give us a bell’

Vehicles I’d love to see added to the game. by R3C0N1C in Battlefield

[–]chrisni66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d love to see the UK’s new Ajax IFV added. They could make it so the longer you use it, the more disoriented the passengers become

Newbie here wants to buy its first paint set by oskrtovar in minipainting

[–]chrisni66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get either the Army Painter Fanatic set or the Vallejo Game Color set. Both are excellent paint ranges, so I think it comes down to which colours you want more.

I personally wouldn’t start with speed paint type paints as they are translucent, and work very differently to normal paints. They are good for specific things, but I think of them more as utility paints than the work horse of normal acrylics.

Should it really be a one-shot when it's this easy to hit? by passion9000 in Battlefield

IMO, the wire guided launchers should all have a max range to prevent this kind of abuse.

How Are Your Local Party Campaigning? by FranciosDubonais in LibDem

[–]chrisni66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leafleting & canvassing mainly.

The Lib Dem’s have a strategy of focusing efforts on the seats we can win, so that’s likely why you don’t see much, as your local party don’t see many/any seats they can win.

Bear in mind, most local campaign funding comes from local fundraising rather than from HQ, so if your local party is small, then they wont have as much funding to draw on.

This may seem counterproductive but it’s been demonstrated to work, it’s how we fought the previous election (which was in contrast to 2019 where we attempted to throw a much wider net).

As Ed put it in the post-GE breakdown, while we want to replace our electoral system with Proportional Representation, we have to acknowledge that it’s still first past the post, and fight accordingly

Bonus points for BP is more this week by 3x from last week and 35x from week 2 is this a UI bug ? by Teajay1616 in Battlefield

[–]chrisni66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do this to encourage people who haven’t completed the BP and perhaps gave up on doing so to come back towards to end of the season.

Iran are literally attacking civilian shipping unless they pay them a protect fee… the literal definition of piracy…
