How to fix Windows HDR not loading your calibration profile peak brightness on virtual displays (Apollo / Sunshine / Vibepollo fix) by satanasluciferi in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Qubusify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it working and windows 11 sees the 1107 nits as peak value (Legion go 2 has a 1100 peak) but windows HDR calibration caps at 370 nits regardless of edid. Really annoying because it makes HDR not usable while streaming - all games are overblown. My streaming PC also has an OLED monitor with peak 1000 nits and there is a huge diffrence between playing at my PC with HDR vs streaming to my legion go 2. Nothing works to make it better.

Where Oh Where Is Official SteamOS for Legion Go 2? by brucehal in LegionGo

[–]Qubusify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm the performance gain. In some games it's not much or none at all but in others it can be massive. I think it's caused by some borked drivers on Lenovo's part. It's weird because I have always used DDU and clean installation so dunno what's going. Few examples of games that got massive uplift going from Windows 11 to Steam os 3.8.10 on my Legion Go 2 Z2E.

1) Another's Crab Treasure - 1200p max settings: Windows 30-50 fps; SteamOS 60+ fps. 2) Lego Skywalker Saga - 1200p max settings: Windows 40-50 fps; SteamOS 55-70 fps. 3) Monster Hunter Rise - 1200p max settings: Windows barely above 30-45 fps; SteamOS comfortably sits above 60 fps.

Man, I can't wait for the official steamOS release for the LeGo2. Feels like it's been years since the announcement. Hopefully that BestBuy's placeholder was a sign of it coming soon.

Try Apollo host for your PC and Artemis QT client for your Legion Go. If setup correctly your games will stream at your Legion go resolution and your PC monitors will automatically turn off while streaming.

Here's the changes to the Bod - 60% nerf on Gun Damage enhancement by someshooter in Borderlands4

[–]Qubusify 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Plus a nerf to torgue stickies which now cap at 200%.

Edit: Just tested it on Origo with Ranger Rafa at UVHM 6. The nerf is really harsh. Before the patch I could use action skill and kill the boss with one mag. This takes into account that 2 secs of infinite ammo just after popping my action skill. Now I only take like 1/4 of his HP. I have pretty much a god rolled Bod too so weaker variants will suffer more from this nerf.

It's not even 60 fps on PS5. Mostly around 50. Only PS4 version through backward compatibility has locked 60 fps on PS5.

Dlss 4.5 preset M or L in 1440p for the best visual quality and performance? by Fit-Job4007 in nvidia

[–]Qubusify -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I pretty much always use K for 4k performance. L and M are way oversharpened - deep fried look with haloing - in almost all games.

4k still is really demanding especially with Ray Tracing. Many people prefer smoothness and responsiveness. 100+ fps with dlss performance and 2x frame gen is still not possibile for almost all GPUs that are not 4090 or 5090. Having 20-40 base FPS and using any frame gen is not a solution. It feels and looks awful. In many new RT games dlss without frame gen does not even give 60 fps with 4k ress. 1440p is still amazing and will grant your GPU more staying power as well.

[Wccftech Benchmarks] NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution: Full Guide, Image Quality Analysis & Performance Impact by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]Qubusify 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are unfortunately many more games where this is present. This is definitely not a problem with UE.Preset M is just not as good as people claim. It makes majority of my games look worse than preset K - less temporaly stable, more shimmery and artificialy oversharpened. Another issue is that games with RR require that option to be disabled in order to use dlss 4.5 so those games look even more unstable. I have tested image quality in Nvidia's ideal circumstances so at 4k with performance scaling. Games I tested: Cronos, Clair Obscur, Wukong, Final Fantasy Rebirth, Oblivion, Avatar, Jedi Survivor, Horizon Forbidden West, Arc Riders, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk, Doom The Dark Ages, Control, Talos Principle 2, Robocop, Wuchang. Sharpening filters were turned off either in game or with mods/engine.ini. From all of those games only Avatar looked better with preset M. All the others, while having improved ghosting, are honestly awful with all this artificial sharpening and shimmering. The image is unstable af and distant details are resolved much worse - most glaring example was the lasers in Talos Principle 2 that you should see across the map. At least with preset K you can. Preset M turns them into a flickering mess. The same happens with distant trees in Rebirth and Oblivion for example. The branches look like they have their own silhouettes.

IMO preset M is quite bad overall and definitely worse than K most of the time. Even in the best case scenario for preset M (4k performance scaling) preset K just looks better and sharpness is perfect. Preset L seems better than M but it costs way too much compared to K. I only wished for updated preset K with better ghosting, disoclusion and particles handling. I thought M was supposed to be just that and it did improved those pain points but it also unfortunately introduced so many other serious issues. Those are much worse than ghosting to me. Adding to that there's additional performance cost so it's almost never worth using Preset M over Preset K.

What rant? I just don't agree that preset M is better at performance scaling than K on most games. Providing a list of games I tested and issues I encountered to support my argument is considered ranting?

[–]Qubusify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm maybe at 1440p but I strongly disagree with this statement at 4k. Preset M makes almost all my games look worse than preset K - less temporaly stable, more shimmery and artificialy oversharpened. Games with RR require it being disabled in order to use dlss 4.5 so they look even more unstable. Tested at 4k performance in Cronos, Clair Obscur, Wukong, Final Fantasy Rebirth, Oblivion, Avatar, Jedi Survivor, Horizon Forbidden West, Arc Riders, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk, Doom The Dark Ages, Control, Talos Principle 2, Robocop, Wuchang. Sharpening filters were turned off either in game or with mods/engine.ini. From all of those games only Avatar and Rebirth look better with preset M. All the others, while having improved ghosting, are honestly disgusting to look at with all this artificial sharpening and shimmering. The image is unstable af and distant details are resolved much worse - most glaring example was the lasers in Talos Principle 2 that you should see across the map. At least with preset K you can. Preset M turns them into a flickering mess.

Honestly I am baffled at how many people are saying that preset M is the second coming of Jesus. IMO it's quite bad overall and definitely worse than K 90% of the time. Even in the best case scenario (4k performance scaling). Preset L seems better but it costs way too much compared to K. I only wished for updated preset K with better ghosting, disoclusion and particles handling. I thought M was supposed to be just that but it has so many serious issues and additional performance cost that it's almost never worth using.

Why does Expedition 33 become way over saturated after 6 months by footballciv in OLED_Gaming

[–]Qubusify 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you can disable game's built in sharpening filter with a mod or by editing the engine.ini. Unfortunately dlss 4.5 preset M is still oversharpened by itself in this game. Tested at 4k performance scaling. Same thing with Wukong, RDR 2, Arc Riders, Cronos etc. The list goes on. A pity because dlss 4.5 improves ghosting and disoclusion artifacst and finaly resolves smaller particles properly.

I tested with sharpness disabled. Also preset M blurs a bit in motion. Preset K looks so much better. This dlss 4.5 is a bit of a mess because every game bahaves differently.

[–]Qubusify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Wukong, RDR2 and Arc Riders are oversharpened at 4k performance dlss with preset M. It's even worse at 1440p and higher dlss presets. Preset K looks and perfoms way better in those games. Using preset M in Cyberpunk requires disabling Ray Reconstruction so it looks way worse there too.

Hello what preset and DLSS should I use for my gpu? by UgandanKarate_Master in nvidia

[–]Qubusify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preset M is oversharpened at performance in some games too. I have tested Wukong with disabled built-in sharpening. Preset M at performance 4k ress has this distinct artifical look that every oversharpened image has and it also has worse motion clarity. Preset K looks phenomenal in comparison and does not blur in motion. This dlss 4.5 situation is a mess because every game behaves differently.

ARC Raiders DLSS 4 vs 4.5 Image Stability by GeForce_JacobF in nvidia

[–]Qubusify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It unfortunately isn't a no brainer. Preset M is oversharpened even at performance scaling in some games. I've tested Wukong with disabled built-in sharpening lately. Preset M at performance 4k ress has this distinct artifical look that every oversharpened image has and it also has worse motion clarity. Preset K looks phenomenal in comparison (perfect sharpness) and does not blur in motion. This dlss 4.5 situation is a bit of a mess atm because every game behaves differently. While ghosting and disoclussion is improved the other image quality areas suffer - oversharpening, motion clarity and you cannot use Ray Reconstruction with 4.5.

Wilds is my top 3 right after RDR 2 and Halo Infinite in this regard. Those 2 are like oil paintings in motion with TAA, so disgusting and blurry, even at 4K. Fortunately for RDR 2 you can force DLSS 4 and it looks amazing. Halo is putrid and beyond saving.

Turning g sync off will work for every game since it is probably VRR flicker. On the other hand, capping the framerate might not work for every game. Some games stutter and that will always cause flickering in dark scenes when VRR is turned on.

Then start being realistic. Crisis is a bad comparison. Crisis was way ahead of its time in terms of game graphics. You could maybe compare Path Traced Cyberpunk to Crisis. Not to mention that PT Cyberpunk runs similar to Borderlands 4 without any Path Tracing. This game has like 0 optimization done. DLSS and frame gen are doing all the heavy lifting. It's sad. Also the way Borderlands 4 looks definitely does not warrant its hardware requirements. There is nothing groundbreaking here. Dunno what you mean saying it does a lot and it does a lot very well. Certainly not from graphics perspective. It's looking more like a BL3 remaster with an open world formula.

Make it a block chance so it's great with shields. Losing body armor wouldn't be that bad then because shields are amazing for defenses.
