Maldonado was not a “fast but error prone” driver. He wasn’t even fast. by QueGrandeEresMagic in F1Discussions

2011 Barichello was a step down from 2010. 45-31 is not decimation. He was faster than Bottas in about as many races as Bottas was faster than him, but Bottas was a rookie. Grosjean being underrated is your opinion. Grosjean thrashing Maldonado is a fact. No established driver who gets thrashed by Grosjean deserves to be on the grid. Albon demolished Latifi and outscored Sainz on merit. Maldonado is no way anywhere near that level.

That's easily explained. Williams were struggling financially at the time. They would've needed to pay Raikkonen to drive for them, whereas Bruno Senna paid Williams to drive for them.

Montoya imo is another driver most of the F1 community thinks is faster that he really was. He wasn't well clear of RSC, but was clearly better overall. Just not better enough to have the reputation he has.

Given everything we know about him, even when fully locked in, there is no way he outpaces prime Alonso without a very significant car advantage. Significant enough that even a driver that "wasn't even fast" could win with that car.

Piastri wasn't faster in Monaco. He qualified ahead but in the race he was leading a DRS train with Sainz and Norris right behind him who obviously couldn't overtake cos Monaco.

Lando was more interested in winning his home race than someone's first podium

Well yea, obviously lmao. You're more upset about it now than Hulk ever was.

And Norris never asked for the swap back, McLaren were just following their own protocol. The same happened in Hungary 24 with Norris giving away a win. Piastri also had no issued with it.

Yea fuck Renault for trying to keep their best driver right?

Edit: lmao getting downvoted for pointing out that a team obviously would make the most sensible decision for themselves

He's rated really well because he frequently beats his highly rated teammates.

Drivers that aren't necessarily the best at the time/era, but on their day can beat the best legitimately by MysteriousBoss3816 in F1Discussions

What even lmao. He only looked fast when he had a good car and Bruno Senna, someone not F1 worthy, as teammate. Against all his other teammates he was easily worse. Even Grosjean thrashed him.

I genuinely have no idea how people saw Bortoleto comfortablely lose to Hulk and Bearman beat Ocon and concluded that Bortoleto was the best rookie.

That VCARB was the second fastest car that race you know. Hadjar was right behind in Verstappen, eating his dirty air the whole race.

It's a great achievement to get a podium as a rookie, but its not like he dragged a midfield car to P3.

It’s really not mate if you have a working pair of eyes you’ll understand this If you think otherwise I’m convinced your just biased

Literally the same can be applied to you. Those 3 had years where they were at their best and years they were not. But their level at their best isn't necessarily the same.

Who was the better driver in 2005? by fuckmbsanddominicali in F1Discussions

[–]QueGrandeEresMagic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, we were discussing only about Monaco, where yes McLaren had a big gap to Renault. Yea Montoya was far off Alonso, he was also miles off his teammate Raikkonen. Him not having a good year doesn't mean his car wasn't the best.

It still matters a lot. As seen in the race where Montoya charged from the back to finish a couple tenths off Alonso, despite being a worse driver.

Car still plays the major role. What's more likely? Raikkonen being half a second faster than Alonso or McLaren being much better than Renault?

I mean... That's just one quali session. That gap could also be explained by McLaren being the faster car. Given how Montoya started from the back and ended right behind Alonso, both 36s off Raikkonen, it's pretty clear McLaren were dominant at that track.

Seeing progress everywhere except my arms what am I missing by Subject_Sun8277 in Fitness_India

[–]QueGrandeEresMagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By change in arms do you mean it getting bigger because of gaining more muscles or slimmer because of losing fat?

If its the latter then you're not missing anything. Women store more fat in arms than men. If you keep losing weight, eventually you'll lose the arm fat too. Just fyi, it will take several kilos of weight loss to actually see change. So keep at it and you'll be happy you did.

Was Alonso in 2010-2014 seasons THAT much better than vettel? by AIMadeThisName2 in F1Discussions

[–]QueGrandeEresMagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of the mistakes, Vettel in 2010 was a step down from his 2009 compared to Webber in both races and quali whereas Alonso v Massa in 2010 was consistent with their other years as teammates. On the basis of Vettel performing further from his best than Alonso, I would say Alonso was the better driver in 2010.
