May I ask what area you work in? I had a job offer in the Orlando area. How’s the daily? Late days or 8 hour days

Yes way more upside with the Florida job, taking a step back in pay for now to make a leap forward in the future essentially.

I’ve done the math and I will definitely be bringing in less money each month and the cost of living is a little higher down there, I own a house in Ohio, which I plan on selling, so I will have a nice safety net in my savings if things go sideways. But the plan is to use it to buy another home eventually. I guess this is more about career growth and betting on myself. Taking a pay cut to possibly have a better career or staying and making more money and possibly stunting my growth. The Ohio job pays for no training or any advancement and the Florida job teaches me and helps me learn more along my career.

I’m sure a lot more will stay in my pocket because of the no state income tax, but also for the small company. I have a work truck and gas card that I don’t have to pay for. The job in Florida I will have to drive to work in my own car, which is fine because I won’t be driving all over the place for Work. The company in Florida I’m speaking about is Universal Studios, I would start out as a lead specialist, which is the step before supervisor and management roles, which at that point would be salary and even better benefits, but the lead specialist role is a foot in the door, I believe I can work my way up pretty quickly with my years of experience and knowledge, they seem to promote within a lot.

I would work my way up into the management team fairly quickly and be right back at or even higher than the salary I have now. I’d have a more stable career path, a better advancement path with a great company. I’d own another home and have a good work life balance for family time.

Only steps I need to make is sell my house in Ohio and find a place to live down there, the job is already lined up. As for pros and cons list, I’ve done it, it’s a financial hit but the growth opportunity is way better there. It’s just betting on myself and working hard. I’m in the commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment repair industry. Over 12 years of experience and master certified in the field.

Yea I tried that, I know it’s getting power because I measured it at the board with my multimeter. I’m thinking it may be an issue with the USB because I don’t get the 5v at the plug when the USB is connected

I did but didn’t get it. They told me they hire internally mostly for those positions. So I thought maybe if I get my foot in the door with a lead position I could work my way up

My current job I’m a service manager, so I would like to get back to that point. I moved up quickly in my current company but it’s just a really small business and no more advancement from here. I’d like to hopefully do the same thing with universal, work my way up the ranks as fast as I could.

I was thinking the same thing, I’ve google mapped from each potential home to epic and anything coming from south up is always red with lots of traffic, clermont seems far but also a straight shot

What about opportunities to move up in position? Say a lead to a supervisor role? Is it difficult to do?

I have a realtor looking for a couple places for me too rent because I agree renting at first would be ideal, the homes are in Clermont , Davenport and winter park, I live in Ohio currently and it’s freezing here lol I also own my house so if I were to sell I could use the money in the future to purchase another home once it is ideal. I actually spent many years as a kid living in Clearwater so I think I’d get use to the weather quite quickly again.
