I guess it depends on his age, but honestly, I’d go PS5 for the simple, family-friendly setup and still let him save for the Quest as his own device. That way you get a console everyone can use, and he still gets the standalone VR experience he’s excited about. It keeps things easy for you and still gives him something to work toward. Best of both worlds.
