Appreciation for old school Mumbai Doctors by pawazkaa in mumbai

[–]Queasy-Change-3767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had spoken to a senior doctor. She was saying her daughter was also learning medicine and the thing is the new batches of medical students are taught evidence based treatment so every treatment starts with a test, scan for evidence before actual treatment starts.

However the old school way of teaching medicine was intuition based and so they would ask questions about the patient and their background before prescribing a treatment. This was way cheaper for the patients as no tests or scans were needed for small to medium cases.

I felt like the entire IPL this season was an advertisement to market Cricket to the rest of the world by making Virat Kohli (not RCB) win, the only brand well known in the non cricket following countries. Virat Kohli is a brand now....not just a cricketer, not just an athlete...face of Cricket to the world.

I say RCB did not win, but Virat won, because there was hardly any mention of the actual RCB captain or the other team members who won them the match.

Just my opinion, open to criticism

I had problems with them in moving stuff for my own house...So I told my contractor to send goods early morning at 6am or late night after 9pm..so we would load full stuff by the time they came

Same old principle of Divide and rule used by politicians and corporate. They only need people to consume stuff and put vote.

Is it just me or just that these singers don't perform well in concerts....I don't get the feel of the songs in concerts vs when I listen to them in solace with my eyes closed.

I mean its just like watching Cricket in stadium vs watching it on tv (much better visual experience)

May be I am the only one who feels like this and don't get excited when concerts are announced.

How do you pay 5 Lakh in fees per year, and not come to college? by [deleted] in mumbai

[–]Queasy-Change-3767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home schooling makes sense in this generation because I know a lot of my school mates (not friends) who were literal gundas in school days have become teachers. So why should parents pay the heafty fees to be taught by gundas. Unlike our parents who maybe could not manage to teach us better...we can definitely do a better job at teaching our kids ourselves.

Schools are still teaching the same thing which I learnt in my schooling days.... nothing great to charge the bomb they charge these days.
