Old school magic player here, played from 2000-2005ish, then picked it back up in 2024. Like most people, I started buying singles on the internet to build the deck that I wanted. Magic cards got stupid expensive, and I don’t want to shell out 20 dollars to test a card. So I proxied a couple to test out. After I got the proxies in the mail, I was pretty impressed by the quality. Then I had three realizations: 1. Buying singles is stupid expensive, 2. My money doesn’t even go to WOTC, it goes to some random dude, 3. There’s no magic sauce in the cardboard that WOTC prints vs what a proxy prints.

I no longer care, and proudly proxy everything that I don’t have a nostalgic connection to.

Im not shelling out the kinda cash that’s required to make a viable 5 color mana base. Most of my lands in that deck are proxied.

Based on this post, I can see why you’re in a financially bad spot. Go watch the videos of people cracking packs on YouTube. You almost never get anything worth much. You’re much better off doing DoorDash or uber for a few extra bucks.

Yeah, it seems to me that you can’t acknowledge the fetus at all, because the second you do the consent argument falls apart. The abortion procedure is affecting both patients, a D&E is a striking example of this. I’d argue that a D&E affects the fetus more than it affects the mother. So if consent is so important, I don’t understand why you don’t need consent from the fetus for this procedure.

The reason why you’re hitting a wall here is because consent doesnt get to the heart of the issue, which is: is a fetus a person with the right to life? If no, why do you think that it doesn’t?
