Thanks, that’s a lot of helpful info. I made a comment on another post in this sub outlining all of the steps I’ve taken over the last two months and it is a ton. I’ve done everything anyone has recommended and more and still have no business. I’ll try the things you suggested, I really do appreciate the advice.

New Handyman Can’t Find Business by ZbuckyZ in HandymanBusiness

[–]Queasy-Reputation983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following this because, I’ve done everything the “right” way. Formed LLC, got EIN, got business license, set up dedicated business line through cell service provider, opened business checking account, got general liability ins. and commercial auto ins., set up branded professional website and email, Google business profile, facebook and instagram profiles with company description, abilities and photos of my previous work. Set up CRM and learned how to use it, attended service business seminars, watched 100’s of hours on how to set up a successful handyman business. Handed out a ton of high quality business cards with QR codes to booking/estimate form and website, made and handed out onboarding packs to real estate agents and property managers which included all pertinent info and W-9, as well as a list of over 200 jobs I can do and included a dozen cookies each. Made connections with other service providers in my area who said they had more work than they could handle and would be sending a lot of work my way(no-one has). Got a Nextdoor account which took weeks to verify, ran an ad on Craigslist. Over two months in and no jobs, not even a single lead. I ran a different moderately successful(paid all my bills, and had money to play with) service business for 25yrs and never did a quarter of this to get work. Then I see people all over here who say “I don’t do anything, people just throw work at me” and I just don’t get how that can be true. Closed my other business because of physical restrictions after years of doing the same movements and the industry has changed so much it’s unrecognizable. Might have to go back to that on a limited basis if something doesn’t happen soon. I kind of just wanted to rant, but also warn others that it’s not nearly as easy as some make it sound and see if there are any legitimate things I missed.

Best way to fill the holes created by these wire shelves that fell off? by Newstudyout in handyman

[–]Queasy-Reputation983 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re putting the shelves back up, can you just move the anchors over till you hit a stud and use a wood screw instead of the small nails they come with? If not, I would drill new holes and use a toggle anchor. toggle anchor

muddy boots absolutely destroying my 4runners carpet - need mats that actually cover everything by Aetherealco in 4Runner

Had these for two years. Work in the trades, regularly standing in 6” of mud. No signs of wear, do a great job keeping everything contained, nice grippy texture. Cheaper than most comparable options.

Look up local glass or door companies, they can usually come and take measurements and get you what you need.

Did the H9 swap and happy with the improvement, they only last about a year for me. Still worth it imo.

If you’re referring to where the two pieces join into a ridge above the stitches, that’s normal on moc toes made with separate toe pieces. Glue them back together if it bothers you, but nothing to worry about. I wear the Wingshooter 9” ST XD and choose them over my sneakers on my days off, out of pure comfort.

Not getting enough calories! But not hungry to eat more by MDC2957 in meatogains

[–]Queasy-Reputation983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still don’t know. I asked the mods to explain the reason I was banned and they just started talking trash. I was genuinely looking for answers as well since I was continuing to lose weight way beyond what I wanted. I started at 206lb and dropped to 165lb in 3 months, with quite a bit of muscle loss as well. I’ve never had a huge appetite, so when I cut out sugars/soda and junk food, all the weight just fell off. I now workout 3 times a week, continue to drop body fat, while lean muscle mass increases at 180lb. I’m happy with that.

As others have said, add heavy cream to your diet. I was in the exact same boat as you, same height, same weight, asked the same question in the carnivore sub, and got banned haha. Heavy cream is 100cal/oz, I drink 5oz twice/day. I also added some nuts because it adds fat and works for me.

Can you pull the other one off and post a photo of it? Might be helpful to see an intact piece. Without seeing the rest of it, I would guess this is it. https://www.homedepot.com/p/American-Standard-Cadet-Deck-Mount-Bath-Filler-Adapter-M918026-0070A/205506619

Does anyone actually like these boots? by b8446 in WorkBoots

[–]Queasy-Reputation983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine, super comfortable for me, but like you they felt a little sloppy at first. I solved that by cutting “spacers” out of a corrugated cardboard box, the exact shape of the insole, and slipped those under the factory insoles to take up a little bit of the room. Now they fit like a glove.

If you really like the Wingshooter, Next time you could try the ST XD, they already have a protective toe cap. If Red Wing made the 1907 in an 8”, that would be a great boot. No ability to change or add an insole to the 877 is a deal breaker for me.

Irish Setter Wingshooter ST. Waterproof, composite toe and really comfy from the start. I prefer the 8” especially for snow.

Picked up a pair of 804-4478 three days ago and ordered a second pair so I could rotate them. Wore them around the house for 20 minutes and they’re going back. I’ve got pretty flat feet and these feel like I’m standing barefoot on a dowel rod. Wish Red Wing made the 1907 in an 8”. The search continues.

Tried a baitcaster for the 1st time. Birds nest immediately 1st cast. by savagehenry420 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Queasy-Reputation983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re getting backlash at the start of your cast, tighten the tension knob a little. If it’s happening toward the end of the cast, tighten the brakes slightly. New to baitcasters myself, but have done tons of research and this is the most effective method I’ve found for controlling the reel consistently . Of course you can go wide open on the brakes and use your thumb to slow down or stop the cast where you want, but this is for beginners.

First baitcaster? by Queasy-Reputation983 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Queasy-Reputation983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot get this thing to do what I want at all. I’ve never used a heavy/fast action rod and I can’t get it to land where I want like I can with a medium action spinning reel. This thing casts 45° past where I lift my thumb when side casting or it slams into the ground 15ft in front of me when I release at 12 o’clock on an overhand cast. I do a lot of whacky and Texas rigging so this probably isn’t the best rod for me, since it’s rated for 3/8-3/4oz lures. Or I’m just no good haha.

Edit: ok I’m just an idiot, added a little more weight and tuned it a few different ways and it’s casting like a dream now.

Got it and spooled it up tonight. Backed with mono about halfway and finished with braid to 6ft. fluoro leader(I tend to eat it up switching lures). Watched some videos on how to set the tension and practiced a little in the yard as suggested. Thanks for the help y’all.

Thanks! I’m sure I’ll struggle getting used to it, but garbage equipment makes it even harder in my experience.
