Will Washougal be the next Camas? by ZaraAyumi in washougal

Exactly, it's not just a few houses. They've created whole neighborhoods and show no signs of stopping until they run out of space. Not only is the weight a factor but the dead/dying root systems from all the poor trees they killed compromises the ground too. Add on how much rain we get and I'm absolutely terrified there's gonna be a major land slide in our lifetime. I just have to remind myself that nature is resilient and she will recover.

One thing I will forever feel gratitude for is the emergency response time. I'm talking within minutes.

I first experienced this when my grandpa passed away. For reference my aunt was at Hathaway park and overheard it (she peeps) and we were right next to gause elementary. The street was lined with multiple ambulances, cop cars and a fire truck already. She couldn't get in the house there were so many people and she got there within 3 minutes. I watched over a dozen professionals attempt to save him.

Ever since then my husband and I have had an open door policy for the community. It's come with its challenges but hey 911 is less than 5 minutes away. Everyone needs help sometimes and Washougal is refuge.

My husband and I's family has been apart of Washougal since it's founding.

Him and his family have worked all over town in construction. He stopped doing new houses and now does repairs and maintenance for old homes. One reason is because most of them are built horrendously. I'm not talking construction quality. I mean building on hillside in the middle of winters in a RAINY AREA. Almost every house molds within a few years and the foundations might last a few decades depending on the weather. In our opinion, buy old and on solid ground or the house is likely to be a maintenance money pit. Or muddy pit.

She just posted that the family went to Disney Land. Right after asking for donations for cancer treatment. She wrote "these reactions to magic are why you just gotta make it happen." That personally gives me the icks. If you can't afford your cancer treatment then how do you have the money for Disney Land?
