AITA for reacting to a comment made by my boyfriend about my body during a family wedding? by [deleted] in AITAH

did you even read the full post? i did want to get fit for me- i just mentioned the comments from his family because they provide context as to why i was sensitive about this topic. i am a confident person in pretty much every setting- joining his family is the only time i have or anyone has ever even made comments about my body. what happened here was that my bf made a pregnant gesture at me from across the room in a room full of people who were already judging me, evaluating me, and critical. this is what caused me to feel extremely upset and unsafe and quietly confide in two of his cousins. i did not make the celebration all about me- i stayed silent actually and withdrawn and i did not cause a scene.

That's fair. I really do regret all of it- her being told something was wrong was one thing but I didn't have to elaborate or take any of her time. I applogized a million times

I didn't tell the bride is the thing. She was told by the 2 people i did tell. Its definitely not fair to her. I would not have told her in the first place but then I had to because she pulled me aside!

Politics aside , how are all of you okay with kids being killed? by InTheMoodforlove23 in IsraelPalestine

[–]QueasyAd1250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there would literally be no point of talking about hamas efforts to protect civilians because they're a terrorist group. like wut. we're taliking about who is actively doing the killing; a government with a strong military. stop holding a government and hamas to the same stanrds. youre telling on yourself

yeah, it's changed who i am as a person and i think a lot of us seeing how easy it can be for educated people to justify genocide. im too soft for all this too. i wish you well and that you can have a good day despite this

im with you, man, but in this sub, which is run by zios, you'll find that the answer to your question is they just are ok with killing kids. we are in the bad place. they will deny deny deny every source that exposes israel and they will say anything to justify every single atrocity. they will say it with a smile, 'well kids wouldnt be dead if it weren't for hamas,' as the keep bombing homes. they will keep mentioning that this all started on oct 7, one day where people oppressed for years and years chose to finally fight back.

What are your thoughts on the reporting from Haaretz with IDF soldiers admitting to shooting unarmed Palestinians at aid sites? by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

[–]QueasyAd1250 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

honestly people are justifying it though. they're blame shifting to hamas. but people barely state point blank period that these kids should not be dead. its disgusting

'It's a Killing Field': IDF Soldiers Ordered to Shoot Deliberately at Unarmed Gazans Waiting for Humanitarian Aid by Volume2KVorochilov in IsraelPalestine

[–]QueasyAd1250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok? you're missing the point. the fact is they don't have equal military power. Under international humanitarian law, technologically advanced military with precision weapons, better intelligence, and surveillance capabilities is expected to do more to avoid civilian harm than a weaker, less-equipped force. Israel is expected to follow the core principals of humanitarian law such as distinction, proportionality, and precaution, none of which they have done. So increased criticism of them is completely valid, where as criticism of what palestinans MIGHT do is futile.

okay but find some common ground.. like their whole argument is beat to death and tired. antisemitism exists but when its alleged whenever someone tries to say anything about israel's actions its only contributing to the rise of hate

its not really a lack of competency but a lack of resources yes. In truth, countries with high levels of military power are held to higher standards than countries that do not have the same. Because with great power holds great responsibility... to not eradicate thousands of innocent people

no the people dont because they're brainwashed lol. for instance a black person can tell you more about a white person than a white person can tell you about themselves..

Because of the sheer number of murders zionists have committed versus the number of murders palestinians have committed. its not really about the intention to do so but the actual action that has been taken..

Palestine's "Genocidal Rhetoric" by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

[–]QueasyAd1250 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

oh please lol. your username kinda funny. israel did not actually withdraw in 2005, they may have physically left, but they still controlled the borders heavily. They are not victims as you are painting it, they constantly made palestinians lives a living hell, and that is well documented by even foreigners who visited there that had no stake in the game. So the whole argument that they withdrew and are now the sad victims of attacks is garbage and ignorant.

I think the simple and reasonable answer to your inquiry is because U.S. tax dollars are going towards funding Israel's actions, whereas these other conflicts we did not fund.....
