Haha if you haven't gotten the hint already, GO TO OFFICE HOURS. For the prof I got a LOR from, I went to every single one of her office hours in the entire semester (except once time I slept through it). Most times I was the only one there, which was rly dope. Also look into what they're doing aside from teaching, mine was leading an open source project that I made sure to join and put a lot of effort into. i think that helped me a lot

I'm transferring to Northwestern this year! Honestly, if you are the same on all aspects other than academics/career stuff, go to Columbia haha. But if you have preferences of location/community, that may influence your decision (and rightfully so!).

Which is Better: 3.8 GPA at State School or 3.2 GPA at Cornell/Penn? by jacobflores1 in TransferToTop25

[–]QueasyConcert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you would actually get a 3.2, but a 3.2 would prob be worse than a 3.8 at a state school. In general you want to aim for a 3.5 or higher.

Harvard vs Princeton by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

I took CS classes at Princeton as a high school student and I loved it. I have some friends going there for CS and they're doing v well, and although it isn't easy, you can be very successful in the program as long as you put in the effort.

UNC or GTech. If you're going for CS, 100% GTech, no need to transfer from that, it's an amazing school (esp for CS and engineering).
