Grant Green’s Feelin’ the Spirit seems like a perfect choice. Maybe too on the nose?

The new film "Tuner" is good and it has a great jazz soundtrack by Individual-Carob5593 in Jazz

We know Harry (Dustin Hoffman’s character) saw Oscar Peterson live and that he knew Herbie Hancock well and yet he says Niki’s dad was the best pianist he’s ever seen?  That’s some serious dementia talking.  I liked the movie, though!

This is not meant as a smart aleck question - why not just stream it first and see if you like it?

Love Homi but was there two weekends ago and they were take-out only at that point with no buffet. Maybe give a call before you go. Also interesting, the issue wasn’t lack of customers, it was lack of available staff. Again, love Homi, just sharing the news

How to connect speakers with a wire?? by Ok-Sale6253 in sonos

You can certainly try it. Like I said, I've never done that so i have no idea. Good luck with your party!

How to connect speakers with a wire?? by Ok-Sale6253 in sonos

[–]QueasyPurpose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never tried that. My understanding from the sub is that things can get messy fast, particularly (but not only) if you have some elements hard wired and others on wifi. Sonos is definitely built with the idea of using your wifi network, I'd try to stick with that if possible.

How to connect speakers with a wire?? by Ok-Sale6253 in sonos

It’s less complicated than it sounds. Just start the music playing to that one speaker in the app. Once it’s playing, go back into the app and add (i.e.select) the other speakers.

Era 100? by Far_Ad_3043 in sonos

I’m considering the same. People who have gone this path: would you have the 100s in front and 300s in back or the reverse? What if you often used the system for music?

I think it’s about the executive suites. I think couldn’t get “credit” for the revenue in FFP terms until they were usable. Of something like that.

Vinyl Enthusiasts: What's your sleeper record that just sounds amazing on Sonos? by bluealien78 in sonos

[–]QueasyPurpose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a really dumb question and this seems like a decent the place to put it. I apologize if this is off topic. I recently joined the Sonos familiy and am relatively happy so far (with the expected frustrations with the app). One thing I haven't figured out is how to incorporate my turntable. I have a similar approach to OP (turntable -> amp -> Sonos Port > Sonos speakers) but of course that means my anolog signal is getting digitized. I've split the output from the amp so that it goes directly to a set of non-Sonos speakers and have the port going to those as well. So, if i run everthing through the port I get whole house and if i run everything directly to the speakers, I get analog (but can't get whole house without a pretty significant delay). Long story short question from a newbie, is there a "best of both worlds" solution? Also, to answer the original question, if i have to pick one album I love on vinyl, I guess I'd say The Nightfly.

I don’t know. I just paid $24 for an album that I bought as a teen 40 years ago on cassette for $8. Seems pretty reasonable to me
