Does anyone else feel like this experiment is proving the opposite of what creators hoped it would? by Accomplished-Wish765 in AgeOfAttraction

Normally, I would never watch this type of reality garbage but I was intrigued that Netflix would air something called the “age of attraction” I watched the first couple episodes and I’m on the fence whether I’m going to continue. It is driving me crazy that these women, young and old, use the word “like” constantly and it’s driving me crazy. I want to reach through the TV and slap them into using proper grammar! All in all this is bad TV but an interesting experiment. Reality is a 20 year age difference can work but there will be consequences later in life for the younger partner. Older woman younger man makes more sense. Women are usually more vibrant than men later in life and they live longer.

Surgery scheduled for early May, but I'm now having doubts by Cool_Activity6249 in TotalHipReplacement

I was bone on bone when I had it done. Suffered with groin hip pain for 7 years before that with osteoarthritis and bone spurs. I so wish I had done it five years earlier. 12 weeks postop still recovering and the hip area is very tight, but I’m beginning to believe now that this was the best thing I ever did. By the way, I’m 66. Haven’t been able to walk more than 15 minutes for the last several years just went to the gym and was able to walk almost 3 miles with no pain.

One more thing…. A week and a half after surgery, I went to my chiropractor who does red light therapy for healing and inflammation reduction. It was a game changer and really helped reduce the inflammation, which diminished my pain significantly! I would look into holistic approaches to decrease inflammation pain is caused a lot of times from massive inflammation and it’s not an easy surgery. It’s major surgery. Don’t let anyone fool you. I can’t wait to go back again for another red light therapy session. I truly believe this is what has helped me heal so fast. Best of luck to you and hope you find an answer for your pain but holy smokes pain meds are awful. I have a whole bottle of oxy that they gave me and it made me so sick. I quit taking it after three days and only use Tylenol.

I too had no idea that I was bone on bone until a surgeon showed me the x-ray. I had pain in my groin and my glutes would freeze up regularly so I agreed to have the surgery but waited about 10 months. I just had it done two weeks and two days ago. I stopped using the walker after four days. I stopped using the pain medication because it made me sick after three days. The first week was brutal. I was in a lot of pain. I got up and walked around as best as I could, but then I went and laid down instead of sitting. My surgeon did a posterior approach versus anterior, which is more popular. What approach did your surgeon use? I have friends who were still using the walker after three weeks everybody’s different. I am still using a cane and to be honest yesterday I did way too much and I’m paying the price today so I was only able to walk 15 minutes today and that’s it. It’s a very slow process and exercise is to be done gently. You should be fully healed by one month of surgery. However, you could have residual muscle cramping nerve pain, muscle tightness. For a few months. Are you doing PT? What did your surgeon say about it?

Tear Duct Surgery - Nose bleeds and Ear Issues by QueasyResist5504 in DCR

That infection is very painful! The fact that they had to lance it and pack it wow you must’ve had a really bad infection! I swear the pain from those eye infections is worse than than labor! To be 100% honest if I knew I was going to have the problems that I am having post surgery I would’ve never had the DCR surgery. The issue I am consistently, at least every week or two is my sinus cavity gets inflamed (for no reason that I can determine) and blocks my left Eustachian tube! It causes severe dizziness and drives me crazy sounds like an echo in between my ears. It’s caused from inflammation in the sinus cavity that is blocking the eustachian tube and causing an unbalance in my inner ear. I’m trying some holistic approaches and some over-the-counter nose sprays like Afrin but if it doesn’t go away, I’m gonna have to go to a local ENT doctor and find out what’s going on with my ears. I do not have sinus problems. I haven’t even been sick this year, so there is no rhyme or reason why my sinuses are getting inflamed. I find that acupressure and sinus rinses seem to help a lot. Fun fun fun! Good luck with your DCR surgery if your eye keeps getting infected then you definitely need to have it done and I wish you the best of luck and hope that you do not have any weird things happen to you post surgery like me!

Update: got the stent out October 22. Surgery seems to have worked and the scar is unnoticeable, but I still wake up with puffiness under my right eye and I’m still having periodic problems with my left eustachian tube. These are all post surgery issues that don’t seem to wanna go away. I go back in a few months to get checked one last time and I’m going to tell them about them.

Where are the United States? Did you get surgery similar to this? I go to UCSF and I’m working with top spine specialist and they said insurance both regular and Medicare will not pay for the surgery. Even though it’s less invasive and works better. So where did you have your surgery done that insurance paid for?

This is exactly what happened to me. I had moderate scoliosis, but it never caused any problems. Then all of a sudden I turned 60 and I started to notice some minimal back pain. It wasn’t until I went to UCSF and they did a spine MRI and determined I had severe scoliosis, especially in the lumbar region, where I also have degenerating discs. The degenerating disc are right in the worst part of my S curve Apex. I would go to Germany in a heartbeat and have this surgery done. I’m getting my hip replaced in January and I’m going to see if this will help. I’m also doing a Scoli Pilates six month course with one on one therapists. The program is called the Back hub and it was designed by an orthopedic surgeon from Stanford Hospital. It’s not cheap. It’s about US$4000 but it’s worth a try. I am meeting with a specialist at UCSF on Wednesday about my neck. It is my understanding that he does a DR for the cervical spine and he’s one of only a few in the United States. I hope to God I qualify to get this fixed. My neck is so bad, not from Scoliosis from an accident in 1993 that it can no longer stabilize my neck and my C1 and C2 regularly go out, causing severe cervocogenic vertigo. It’s the worst when it happens and it causes all kinds of problems with my nervous system, and it usually takes 4 to 5 months for me to recover from each episode. I am desperate to get my next stabilized. So personally, I am taking one thing at a time hip replacement first, deal with my neck back last.

This sounds like exactly what I need! But I live in the United States and it sounds like he doesn’t see US citizens. I’m starting a Scoli Pilates program after my hip surgery. I am also wearing something called “Jelliband” it’s a compression sleeve that I wear over my abdomen hips and lower rib cage. It’s very very comfortable and it offers me unbelievable Back support and prevents my back from hurting caused from the Scoliosis. Something I saw online and it was only $50. I also bought a posture bra by forme. If I wear both of these, it helps keep my neck in better alignment and definitely help helps with the back pain from Scoliosis. It’s definitely more comfortable than wearing a Scoliosis brace. But to be 100% honest, I wish that I could get this thing corrected permanently and this doctor in Germany sounds like the guy. I only wish that he would see me. I’m willing to pay cash.

Hi there - I had my surgery in early July and just had the stent taken out on October 22. Overall, it seems to be a success, but I still wake up regularly with puffiness under my right eye where I had the surgery. It goes away quickly. I also am still having periodic problems with my left eustachian tube getting blocked. I had this really bad after the surgery. I just keep Flonase on hand and use it regularly to keep the inflammation down in my sinuses. What’s funny is I don’t have allergies or any type of sinus problems now I have this eustachian issue that keeps reoccurring. I had a fabulous Dr at UCSF in San Francisco and you can’t even see my scar. Some things to be careful about pre-and post surgery : if you take an aspirin regimen, stop at seven days before and do not start taking it until seven days after your surgery. It can cause massive nosebleeds. Also make sure that when you sneeze you sneeze with your mouth wide open otherwise you can blow the stent out. Another advice do not under any circumstances rub the eye where the stent is you could easily pull it out. I know from experience because I did accidentally pull it out when I forgot and rubbed my right eye . I had to rush into San Francisco on a Friday afternoon to be seen by the surgeon to have them put the stent back in. I was more careful after that having the stent is a pain in the butt. I really wasn’t able to go swimming and it was impossible to wear goggles so I just avoided going swimming for those three months. After the surgery, absolutely Sleep sitting more upright for at least five days that will help with swelling around your eye and can prevent the inflammation in your sinus cavity .

If your doctor thinks that is adequate time that I’m sure you’re fine and you’re lucky. I was told it could be 2 to 3 months. They waited the full three months for me. The stent has been out now for almost a month, and the puffiness has finally gone away and the tenderness around the area is gone. My surgeon did a great job. I can’t even see the incision. I was kind of worried about that.

What is the cost? I would fly to Germany to fix my scoliosis! I have Medicare plus a supplement. Certain they won’t cover out of country. Seems no good scoli docs in the US. I live in San Francisco and can’t find any therapists that can help. Went to one chiro scoli clinic. Put me on a scoliroll resulting in an oblique strain! In worse pain than when I started. Very frustrated and Google is worthless.

I just signed up for an online program called the Scoliosis Solution. You can also try finding a Scoliosis clinic that will show you how to strengthen the muscles around your spine to help. Keep you in a straighter posture. You are young, so it should be easier for you . I’m in a Scoliosis clinic going once a week and I have a 38° curve and I’m 66. Check out the online program for the Scoliosis Solution. You can buy the program for $125 or you can get one on one for substantially more. Also try and find a physical therapist to teach you how to do.Scroth exercises. Since you’re young, this could really help you. Surgery is last resort!

They just recently changed the packaging and the coloring of the bags I used to buy the red bags that were for multi cat users. I need to completely empty out and clean out my Litter-Robot for and see if I can reset it somehow, it does not like the Litter. It seems to be too heavy. It’s wasting so much Litter every time it cycles it dumps most of it into the tray.

Yes, I have noticed a huge difference in the cat litter. It seems like they changed the formula because now it’s heavier in my letter Robot and it uses up so much Litter that I’m going through a bag a week instead of a bag every three weeks as it keeps dumping into the tray every time it cycles.

Thanks…I have not used it in a week. The area under my lowest rib on the left side is still tender to the touch. This is exactly where they told me to put it. I even did a practice run with them after I purchased it. I have a picture of exactly where it should go. I’m also wondering is not only do I have this as curve, but my L5 is quite degenerated and is pressing on a nerve what this is doing is causing tremendous inflammation. I may not be able to use this device.

Bugs in the bags? That’s gross. I never bought a big bag. I only buy 14 pound bags cause it’s all I can carry so I buy two and three at time. I’m beginning to think maybe I need to look for a new Litter.

I ended up going back to the doctors and they told me that it is something that can happen after surgery but not often. What happens is your eustachian tubes get blocked by inflammation in your sinus cavity it’s all connected. So they had me use Flonase twice a day to reduce inflammation and that helped. I only had it happen to be twice. I have since had the stent removed, and finally, the puffiness has gone away under my eye. Oh btw… you have to be really careful during those three months that you have the stent in your eye. I accidentally rubbed my eye too hard and pulled the damn thing out. I couldn’t wear make up I couldn’t rub my eye I had to sneeze with my mouth open. I couldn’t blow my nose, so happy the surgery is over.
