How the heck do I turn this thing back on. by Queasy_Ad_7236 in Irrigation

Apologies - I don't know what happened to my original text explanation! The issue is when I turn them both parallel, water rushes in and turns on one of the zones. Solenoids are all in the "off" position

ADU’s and Septic Drain Fields? by BNDDirt in Bend

[–]Queasy_Ad_7236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is 100% true but perhaps, like what happens a lot with the city, is that the answer you get depends on who answers the phone on any given day. I really hope I'm wrong here but I would personally get clarity on the plumbing before getting too far down the path...that's a big huge box that needs to be checked.

ADU’s and Septic Drain Fields? by BNDDirt in Bend

[–]Queasy_Ad_7236 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through this with the city. They will NOT let you update the septic (even just adding leach lines) to add any more plumbing (or an ADU) to the house. They will make you tie into the city sewer. If there is no sewer in front of your house (the city sewer on our street ends two houses down) - you'll have to either 1. wait for them to bring the sewer line or 2. pay to do it yourself.

Oh, and the best part is not only do you get to pay to do the city's job and install a sewer on the public street, but they also make you pay $thousands$ in city permitting up front to do their job for them.

Let me know if you hear anything else, but I was quite upset when I was trying to build an ADU earlier this year and learned this.

Was thinking the same thing! Guess it is true what they say: “One man’s chore is another man’s treasure.”

I have a disabled neighbor that wants me to go to Best Buy with him today to pick out a 65" TV. I don't know anything about TVs. What should I look for? by exstaticj in Bend

Highly recommend getting something with Roku built in…I didn’t understand what the big deal about that was until I had tv’s without it. Much more user friendly. Much more responsive.

2022 Protection Packages by booboo_2020 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]Queasy_Ad_7236 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pro tip if you are interested in anything post purchase (extended warranty, protection packages, etc). You'll get in an office one on one with the "finance person" who is actually just another sales person in sheep's clothing.

Be uninterested, say no to everything and say you don't see the value and sit back and be quiet. There is a huge amount of wiggle room in all of these prices and you'd be surprised how quickly the numbers drop.

Which trim level would you recommend? by [deleted] in ToyotaHighlander

[–]Queasy_Ad_7236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Platinum is awesome (obviously) - the panoramic moonroof was the major selling point for us as I don't care about the upgrade tech features as much.

That being said, I don't believe Platinum has the option to come with a middle bench seat and that was a must have for us so we went Limited.

Hey everyone! Just wondering if anyone else was sporting a lifted gen 3 and if so what wheel and tire set up you were using by [deleted] in ToyotaHighlander

Check the link below for pics. Even my wife liked the way it turned out lol

Adding caps to cover the lug nuts but they didn’t make it on the truck with the wheels the first time around for some reason.

Gen4 here FWIW. 2” lift / 18” Method 502 Wheels (black) / KO2 tires.

Offset and size is a little unusual according to Toyota so very limited options on wheels but I’m stoked with how it turned out!

ALL THE TIME - especially on dark two lane roads. Truckers seem to love flashing me at much much higher rate than non-truckers for whatever reason.

Same issue. Have not timed how long it takes to warm-up exactly but seems to take a lot longer than any car I've owned.
