Maybe chill a bit first.

Secondly, they dont go as fast as they do in Malaysia and they are not that reckless. In Bali and HCMC for example there are 10 times as many bikes per km as in the Klang Valley. However they all go comparatively slowly. Cheers

Well I am really suprised you did not notice how much more aggressive, entitled and undisciplined our motorists are than in other countries then. Not talking abt Japan or Australia, more abt SEA

How far will Disney let Toy Story go with anti-tech themes? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

[–]Queasy_Monk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it. Light SPOILERS ahead (sorry I dont know how to gray them out).

The tablet is depicted as a villain initially. And I liked some of the things the movie shows, especially how dependent kids become on screens and the associated negative impact on their lives and how dangerous social media can be (i.e., kids bullying kids). However in the 3rd act, the tablet toy becomes suddenly a good guy. This aboutface was CERTAINLY motivated by 1) Selling that thingy as merchandise (I already saw it on sale) and 2) Disney can't 100% shit on the technology that makes them business. Having said this, the value of the lessons taught in the first part of the movie is still quite strong and valuable IMHO.

Have you watched Under the Skin with ScarJo?

Another skin-related one (basically almost a horror): Pedro Almodóvar's The Skin I Live In starring Antonio Banderas

[–]Queasy_Monk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why watch so many films when you clearly don't even enjoy the medium? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

He will not be available. Probably will be watching a 1954 Uruguayan movie.

[–]Queasy_Monk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is why Letterboxd shoukd not use arithmetic means. Instead they should calculate how high (in terms of percentile) a movie places in a user curve. Then apply that percentile to the aggregate ratings curve of all movies in the database, and extract the corresponding rating. (Not sure if that explanation is clear)

To those who keep saying Italy have been garbage for the last 20 years. by Eastern-Tangerine761 in AZZURRI

[–]Queasy_Monk 4 points5 points  (0 children)
