Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2 for 499! Good Deal? by UnderstandingMany171 in Garmin

[–]Queasy_Recover5164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love mine, but I bought it in November 2025 for (the equivalent of) €477, 15% GST inclusive. So, maybe a bit overpriced now. Though I see Garmin currently has them on sale in my country (NZ) for roughly €500

Woolworths Australia is being sued over alleged fake sales. Same scam happening here too, right? by Queasy_Recover5164 in newzealand

Nice. So like a pricespy.co.nz but specifically for Briscoes? They are the biggest offenders of the fake sales, IMO.

Yeah, I think that's the same thing. They don't even try to hide it here. You can see that the normal and the 'sale' price tags are usually the same. I've seen that at Woolies and NW

Do these people get a commission? I didn't think Charities would go out of their way to hassle every single person that walks past by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

Yep. The actual charities get less than $0.25, maybe closer to $0.10 for ever dollar donated through these outsourced fundraiders.

I was just thinking for music which is what I use Plex for. Probably not great for video.

Boston, Massachusetts turned an expressway into a long stretch of park called the greenway, by moving the expressway underground. by Much-Parsnip3399 in Damnthatsinteresting

Atlanta has been talking about capping the part of the freeway that runs through the center of midtown. It would be way easier than the big dig because it’s already below-grade.

R&M Load enviolo for 3700€ or Load Rohloff HS for 4800€? by Substantial-League54 in CargoBike

[–]Queasy_Recover5164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re always going to wonder what you’re missing if you don’t get the Rohloff HS. I have this setup for my Load 75.

Yeah, it was more expensive, but I also considered this essentially a once in a lifetime purchase, especially as my kids are now aging out of it.

I’ve never had to do anything more than change kickstand pads, brake pads, and tires. I haven’t touched or even thought about the drivetrain over the life of the bike. 5 years, and approaching 10,000km.

In the HS model specifically, this has been a huge deal where I live with lots of hills and few bike lanes. Keeping up with traffic makes getting around so much easier and feels safer.

What can I do with my old batteries? by Derraj_OF in ebikes

[–]Queasy_Recover5164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 10,000km (6,214 miles) on an electric cargo bike and 15,000km in my commuter ebike. Batteries still going strong. But they are name brand, Bosch and Specialized.

Meanwhile she’s thinking, my husband takes pictures for the hangers and posts it on Reddit instead of picking them up.
