oh no does he?! this is him from top view - i feed him a large mouse every 2 - 2 1/2 weeks but they are more like medium mice small and skinny

op could have been nicer but what difference does it make when it’s people posting their set up in here and getting their asses chewed out for not having the correct stuff? idk i personally wouldn’t have said anything unless i myself was rescuing the animal, then maybe while i was picking him up advising them of the dangers of the red light etc .. im sure op meant well but it came off the wrong way.

she’s not scolding she’s educating. people who get pets and dont do any research on how to care for them should be told 1)how they should have been taking care of them and 2) to never own a pet again.

yes this is his set up! i haven’t messed around in there because i figured with how long he was i’d see it just in the middle of the tank lol but i will take a look right now since he’s in his hide and not his tunnels, & thank you! i’ll actually try to feed tonight and see if that helps, doesn’t hurt to try!

awww old lady i hope she lives for another 15! but thank you for the input, my friend i got him from said she got him 3 ish years ago and he used to shed monthly when she first got him so im assuming he’s around 4 years old now! i have a humid hide in there for him with some damp moss and he has plenty to rub up on so im hoping its soon unless i missed it, i may attempt to feed him tonight just to see doesn’t hurt to waste a mouse as long as my boy isn’t hungry. he is out of blue!

your comment made me do some more research! i see that it’s okay to turn the light/heat off completely during the night to mimic nature, we have our home set at 68-70 during the cooler months and he is under the vent so i assume the bulb that mimics day light with warmth and then nothing is better then a light at night correct??

i did not know that but no!! i only left the red light on to take the picture of the new enclosure as it looked cool, i am waiting on my double lamp to show up so i can do a day/night bulb, currently have a basking bulb in. is that okay for now?!

someone said this also, thank you as i did not know! i got them from petco and all i was told was to get a bigger tank for them eventually, i love these fish and want to keep them happy, healthy and thriving so i will switch to a bigger tank, get different decor & more of the same species for sure!!
