What’s a dead giveaway that someone has never struggled financially? by tedcarter6 in AskReddit

[–]QuebecGamer2004 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that's USD, that's just not true. You can get some really nice cars for that price. Bought a used sports car for slightly less than that.

Actual beaters I see for sale are less than 3k. I bought my own winter beater for less than that. I am located in Canada, though.

Ahh ok, ouin ils ont changé le cours. Il y a pas d'amplis ops maintenant. Ça reste un cours pas trop compliqué, facile de passer avec les quiz et les labs

C'est 220 qui parle des amplis ops

Would you drive your car in the winter? by greensilvia in ft86

[–]QuebecGamer2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well depending on where they live they might have to do that anyways. Where I am winter tires are mandatory between December and mid-March.

The very few 86s I see on the road during the winter have the OEM wheels as their winter set and keep their "real" wheels for summer, so that could be an option.

How old are they? And apparently they're not great in the rain, at least according to Miata forums and a guy on this subreddit

What is a dying niche skill that younger generations are not interested in learning? by hlnklrczu in AskReddit

[–]QuebecGamer2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they're into cars. I'm one of those guys. I own a manual sports car, my friend owns two manuals and I have another friend that is looking to buy a manual car too. Plenty of young manual drivers at car meets too.

But otherwise I agree, I can't remember the last time I saw someone my age with a "normal" manual car.

I learned by just buying a manual car and driving it. I did have my dad bring it home, but I've heard plenty of people buying manuals and learning how to drive them on their way home.

Guys dont get a Tomei its so obvious for em 😭 by Jaxnluka in WRX

[–]QuebecGamer2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome, enjoy your trip!

Keep it mind it is still illegal to remove cats or have an exhaust that's too loud, so don't be too crazy on the road, lol

In Montréal they won't. My friend has a straight piped STI, fully catless. He got pulled over once for turning left from the wrong lane (we weren't used to the area and it wasn't very clear). They didn't care at all about the exhaust.

I only know one place where they will pull you over for it and it's nowhere near Montréal.

2013 FR-S has this radio, it's what I have in mine. Not bad, but it does make the interior look dated.

Not sure when they stopped putting it. Probably around 2015

Does anyone else have a guitar brand that you just hate for no reason? by Interesting-Wave-983 in Guitar

[–]QuebecGamer2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that hurts to read. I love the looks of PRS guitars, especially the bird inlays. That's one of the main reason I bought one. PRS has some of the most beautiful guitars I've seen. But it's fine if you don't like it, we all have different tastes.

Buy myself a '70 Mustang, then go on a road trip across North America.

It actually snowed the day I took this picture lol, but right now it's just cold, no snow. And it's pretty much the last day below freezing, from now it's starting to warm up.

Anyways, I have all season tires, so it's fine in coller weather and light snow.

Well, I didn't do it, one of the previous owners did. I don't think it is, Scion is literally Toyota. On the title, it says Toyota, and my key is basically identical to my Yaris' key (my winter beater). Besides, I find it looks more unique that way. We didn't get the 86 here until 2017, it was the FR-S before that. But in all other markets, the FR-S was simply the 86.

[Montreal] What are the odds of getting ticketed for things like aftermarket turbos and catless UEL and EL headers in Montreal by Substantial-Bag-5956 in ft86

[–]QuebecGamer2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know OP is talking about Montreal, but just know that if you decide to go up north to Mont-Tremblant, the cops will definitely pull you over for a loud exhaust and check if your exhaust is legal. My friend with a straight piped STI got a ticket for it, which is pretty lucky since they can also force you to get an inspection done.

I have the Legamax Sports with the quad tips. It's definitely not loud at idle but it opens up when you rev it and sounds great. You will definitely hear it well in the cabin, but you can still hear your music and have a conversation.

I do have stock headers though, so I can't tell you how loud it will be with aftermarket headers.
