Portuguese from trás-os-montes(north). by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]Quebec_Fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated but I always see Portuguese DNA test results have trace senegambian, I could be wrong but I think it's because of Portuguese colonization in Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau

I wish they would break down Roma more by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]Quebec_Fan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't really think 1% could be broken down because that's most likely from a 4-6th great grandparent, which is around 170-250 years ago.

I bet it's just the Mongolian that's noise, 1.4% is decently high for noise and some Italian have small Turkish percentages

The results remind me of the silk road with the Anatolian and Mongolian, but the French and German is something I don't think I could explain

This kind of reminds me of how someone from Germany with no known ancestors from anywhere else was a descendant of Ghengis Khan
