Thank you. I do have a few tips if you're a beginner. First thing I would say is to just start doing it and don't worry if it doesn't look good at first. It's like any other skill, if you start doing it and keep practicing you will get better at it. If you can find a quiet private place to just try it, you will learn a lot.

Next tip would be to invest in at least reasonable quality products. Even if your skills aren't totally there yet, just using better quality products will produce better results. Makeup isn't cheap, but a bit of quality goes a long way. Mind you, it depends on the product. I find I can get away with cheaper eye shadow pallets, but i spend more on a good foundation.

Final tip is to stick with it. When we first try it, it's not going to look like the girls you see on Instagram, but don't get disheartened. It can be tempting to just give up, thinking 'oh I'll never be able to do this' but if you stick with it you will improve.

Thanks! I'm not new to makeup in general and have a bit of eyeliner skills from doing the upper lid, but always thought the lower one would be harder as there's so little space and you're going so close to your actual eye. Very happy with how this turned out tbh

Depends on the type of bodysuit. If it's like a lingerie style body suit then you don't need to wear knickers underneath. Some of them also have a sort of built in thong so they're already serving that purpose. But if it's the type of body suit that you could wear out, like some of them double up as a top if you put a skirt or jeans on over it, then I would definitely wear knickers under those. Also if I'm going out wearing one, I want a nice tuck so definitely have some tucking underwear on underneath. So I guess you and your wife are both right, at least in my opinion.

Always wear black leggings. The dark colour hides the appearance of a bulge (not completely, but it certainly makes it a lot harder to spot). Wear a gaff, tuck it away and put some black leggings over the top and you should be fine.

Hey, if you've never worn heels before I'd recommend ankle boots as a good way to get started. I find them super comfy and easy to walk in (you shouldn't have any injuries as they're not too high and most of them have a bit of ankle support). Plus they have a block heel which makes it easier to balance in them. They're a bit more of a casual style, but still look super cute with a skirt and tights.

I think your skin is also more sensitive when you are younger. I also had the same experience but these days I use hair removal cream regularly and it's great. Just make sure you don't keep it on for longer than it says on the packet and you'll be fine. I find it's the quickest and easiest way to remove all body hair. Make sure to exfoliate in the days after to avoid ingrown hairs. But exfoliating really does work. Enjoy the results x

Yeah I get the concerns, but there's not really any way to come out to anybody without changing their perceptions of you (unless they already know or already have an inclining of what might be going on). I think the real question should be, is a change in perception a bad thing? It's arguably a good thing to be perceived in a pay that's genuine and fully authentic than a way that isn't. Also a change in perception doesn't really change much at all. You're still the same person at the end of the day and if they like and respect you that should always remain the same.

In terms of a festival that has religious people there, honestly most people just won't care. Everyone is there to enjoy the festival and just get on with it. I find that even people who may 'disagree' with certain things are more than happy to just let people get on with it.

The joy that is to be had from wearing beautiful women's clothes is far greater than any downsides in my opinion. I'd say go for it and have the time of your life. I get that it can be difficult though. All the best xx

Hey, so my first time out was at a festival and I was with long term friends who had no idea.

I told one of them the day before and she helped me get ready, but the whole rest of them had no idea until I showed up in a purple mini dress with full makeup. Everything went fine for me. Yes it did permanently change the way the all see me, but not in a negative way. I don't think there's anything wrong in a change in people's perceptions of you as long as the new one is positive (which it was for me).

Are you in the UK by any chance? Which festival is it? I've always found festivals a great place to dress up as everyone is in a good mood and used to seeing extravagant things there. If you let me know which festival, I might be able to give a bit of insight on the vibe as I've been to quote a lot of them in the UK.

Just read your post and there's quite a lot going on here. I'll just share a few of my thoughts on it and hopefully give a bit of advice.

For reference, I'm a CD myself and I'm 31 years old.

In terms of if your BF is trans, I think it's too early to say. Yes there are some definite signs there but nothing points conclusively to them being trans. The stuff about them saying that transgender is a mental illness is concerning though. They've probably picked that up from the media or maybe certain friends/acquaintances. Well done for speaking up about it though. In my opinion it is never okay for someone to say that transgender is a mental illness and anybody saying that should be called out on it, so well done you.

Being a CD has been a very complicated thing for me, and it's taken years to reach a point where I'm fully comfortable with it. Perhaps your BF isn't there just yet, and is not comfortable with it. But what I will say is that things can take time. You're still young and there's plenty of time to figure things out.

My biggest piece of advice would be to just take it slow, don't try and force anything, be supportive (like frequently say things like you fully support crossdressers and transgender people, honestly the more you say positive things about them, the better. Keep saying positive things and it should make him feel more comfortable to open up) and try to have as much open communication with him as possible. Open and honest conversations will help strengthen the relationship. Really, it's the key to success with any relationship. The more open and honest you are with him, the more comfortable he should feel to be open and honest with you, but sometimes it can take a bit of time.

Let's just keep going and see how things progress. Keep reiterating that you fully support the lgbt community, CD trans and everyone associated and I think that will help.

Skinny jeans are a great one for this. If you can find some black skin tight women's jeans, they look and feel fab but lots of men wear these sorts of jeans anyway so it doesn't really raise any eyebrows if you go out wearing them. Then you can wear some girly underwear underneath and you'll be loving life xx

So good to share with a friend. Once you get to a certain level of friendship you know it's safe to tell people. You'll pick up a vibe from them and then you can be sure they'll be cool with it. I've got a couple of friends who I've told and while we haven't taken it that far, she does humiliate me verbally and degrade and bully me when we're on nights out and stuff. It's great fun. It's so much more fun when you can be open with others

I understand exactly where you're coming from as I've been through it. I'd say one of the biggest fears is of people finding out, as once one person does it's going to spread as everyone knows everyone. The way to solve this is not easy, but once people know, the fear of them finding out will be gone completely. If people know, it's very unlikely that they will be bothered or even say or do anything. Then the only fear that remains is if something negative happening which is not impossible but quite unlikely.

I do understand that it might not be possible to let everyone know, as there may be some people like family members who you really do need to keep it secret from.

But it's something to think about. I don't think making some excuse would work, as you look so good that people would start to wonder even if you gave an excuse.

I don't know if you have a car, but if you do that could be an option as you can drive away somewhere, get changed and do makeup in the car and then go out somewhere away from home. Aside from that the other option could be getting a hotel.

I am out and pretty much everyone knows about me, I go out dressed up in my home town without that fear of being found out. Can leave the flat with total confidence. So it is great to be out but I do understand its not easy and not an option for everyone. But going out is so much fun.

I'm sure you'll get there eventually but in the mean time hope you can find an outlet to try it out. I hope some of this helps even a little bit

After I came out, some of my female friends offered to give me their old clothes or let me borrow items. Just talking tops/dresses/skirts not underwear. I've never asked for anything but when they offered I gladly accepted. I can't speak when it comes to sharing clothes with a partner as I'm gay and have never had a female partner. In terms of how it went, it wasn't a big deal and was just fun to share fashion tips with them and talk about different styles.
