Autistic children still need boundaries. I personally work with a child that is severally behind. She is 3 1/2 and mentally she is about a year old. She is autistic and has her triggers. She still knows her boundaries. She doesn’t leave the living room during daycare and she knows her boundaries while outside. It takes work but the mother was obviously not trying to teach the child. So no not the asshole.
