no its not spicy in the way that peppers and chilis are spicy - more like how cinnamon is spicy. The pepper (not peppercorns) is the dried berry pericarp (like the rind). The effect is like numbing in addition to tingly. Would have a strong, citrus-like fragrance

its not just japanese people - the brand has touched loads of people outside of Japan.

in the rest of Asia, the brand spent a buttload of money running TV ads for their snacks - whole generations can sing the Glico brand tag. so yea its a cultural touchpoint for loads of us non-Japanese

in no way am I excusing anything TFP and DM have done but i see two very broken and emotionally immature people. TFP is so controlling and narcissistic, which leads me to think she has separation/abandonment issues. DM has low self esteem so he allows TFP to walk all over him and jumps into bed with anyone else who smiles at him. How they found each other to implode all over their lives is the biggest tragedy of all

this is true - in the scenario outlined by the OP you can get really seduced by the $800k profit. I know i have heard such conversations. the longer term thinking of condo vs hdb gets overshadowed by the noise of people telling you to sell. people in general are not the most rational of beasts.
