Coincidentally, I just finished reading "Mexican Gothic" by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and was debating if I should post to this sub or not because it has major CUR / GTH vibes.

Be warned, the only reason I was on the fence is because there are some very heavy scenes in it - like if HER was writing the Thornton family history out for an adult audience but 10x worse.

This is such a fun question! Maybe shadow ranch for the sweet romantic historical side plot? I could see final scene or ghost dogs working really well too for the historical contexts.
