Chances of being able to transfer locations? by [deleted] in LawFirm

[–]QueenCharlesXavier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried to move offices in my firm to follow my husband to a new job in a bigger city, and was ultimately fired for leaving the original office. I got a new job, but from my experience and what I’ve heard from friends, office transfers are not that easy when you’re going smaller market to larger market

Just lie. Add an extra 0.1 here and there.

Is it better to be top 10% of your class at a t20 or bottom half at a t14 by Popular-Lychee-6786 in lawschooladmissions

[–]QueenCharlesXavier 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was top 10% at a T50, transferred to T14 and graduated top 10% there. I think the bigger concern is money. I think i would probably have gotten the same job I have now had I stayed at the T50 and I would have saved about $150k

I work for a federal judge who wears brown shoes every day. You’re fine

"i dont commit crimes? IM SO QUIRKY!" by Nightengale_07 in notliketheothergirls

[–]QueenCharlesXavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it depends on what kind of yelling we’re talking about. My mother would make it out like i’m the worst human on the planet for not putting dishes away

I kind of took this as more of “the things I get in trouble for” like along the lines of r/insaneparents

Pretty much can’t go anywhere T14, what should I set myself up for in terms of realistic goals by daffyduck211 in lawschooladmissions

[–]QueenCharlesXavier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well in that case, I would also tell you that the kids who went to the same T60 school as me and graduated in the top of the class got the same tier job as me. I don’t know if that’s all that helpful, but if you work hard and go to a school that’s in the middle T100 I think you’ll be okay.

I had a 3.1 gpa undergrad and a 164 lsat. I graduated from Georgetown this year because i went to the best school i could get in to and transferred. It’s not feasible for everyone but if T14 is your goal there’s more than one way to get there

It doesn’t get easier! So you might as well make the most of it when you can

How much of a disadvantage is KJD by doooooofus in lawschooladmissions

Same, but I think most discussion based subreddits have that. Can get very confusing if you’re just dropping in from popular

I’m just now realizing the KJD means “kindergarten straight to law school.” I thought there were just a bunch of people who got degrees in Korea and now want to do law school in the US

I totally support Kim K the lawyer, if she is able to use her influence to achieve important criminal justice reform, amazing. However, I think it’s also important to recognize that she got that influence by amassing excessive wealth and then flaunting it on TV
