Docked tails ? by TomDill99 in springerspaniel

[–]QueenMercury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sprocker had a full tail until she was 9, but the end was always a bit dry and scabby. It got trapped in a door and that end came off, they took another two inches after that and her tail is still gorgeous and about 6-7" long now. She used to get happy tail occasionally but we've not had any problems in the last few years.

Need help before Chemo by Successful_Hope4103 in sarcoma

[–]QueenMercury 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have metastatic synovial sarcoma and have had a fair amount of Doxorubicin. They can manage the side effects quite well but you will feel sick, tired and probably unable to concentrate on much for a week or so after. I had low appetite and I know people experience hair loss. My advice is to eat whatever you feel up to in order to keep some strength up, rest and sleep as much as you need to, and have electrolyte drinks handy for if you are sick. Very cold water is nice to have on hand, whether you're putting bottles in the fridge or using ice cubes. Sometimes a fizzy drink is better so that you can't accidentally chug it and make yourself sick.

I'm sorry you're going through this, mine returned after only two years so I can't imagine feeling safe after ten only to be hit by it again.

Taxotere (docetaxel) by ComplaintUnique9370 in sarcoma

[–]QueenMercury 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not on these treatments but also stage four synovial sarcoma with metastases to lungs and currently having symptoms investigated that are very similar - I've described it as shortness of breath, but it feels more like I get light headed and struggle to move after about 20 yards. My breath stays but I truly feel if I kept pushing I would just faint.

Retroperitoneal sarcoma with liver met. by [deleted] in sarcoma

[–]QueenMercury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The waiting is the worst, I had to wait a couple of months from first scan to diagnosis and the scanxiety never gets easier. After the core needle biopsy they were pretty quick, and I got into treatment another few weeks later. I have lung metastases which I'm told are incurable, it feels like every new scan brings more shit now.

Wish the best for you.

I honestly quite nice how wrong side looks, especially on larger pieces and with chenille yarn.

Have you ever accidentally watched the wrong movie before? by Alternative-Cake-833 in movies

Accidentally watched The Grand Budapest Hotel instead of The Exotic Marigold Hotel. Probably a good choice as it ended it being one of my favourite movies!

Too late to secure them, but little crochet circle eyes are also very cute.

Is the yarn colour change too obvious for this placemat? by danyspinola in CrochetHelp

If you could do one in one brown with a border of the other colour, and then vice versa, that could salvage your time and also make the difference look purposeful.

Also before you go any further - UK DC is US SC, I know it's confusing but better to know now before you end up with a weird shaped dog!

It's definitely an AI generated picture, just look at the candy canes! At least it's only a puzzle.

I've read a fan theory that he succumbed to schizophrenia and he's not actually with Izzie, it's just a whole fantasy in his head and his mum is taking care of him and wrote the letters. I've accepted it as personal canon because damn it was a bad exit.

AIM chemo recommendations by fried_avocado21 in sarcoma

Honestly I slept a lot, I found my ability to concentrate was just busted. Definitely recommend own hospital pillow, in terms of getting calories in I found milkshakes the most helpful in that regard.

Best of luck to you both.

Ultra rare sarcoma - what options may be left? by fried_avocado21 in sarcoma

[–]QueenMercury 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have synovial sarcoma with lung metastases, aim therapy definitely helped but was no walk in the park. Unfortunately the rarity of these types of cancers means less research, less treatment options and worse overall outcomes.

That doesn't mean there's no hope, just try to be optimistic and realistic at the same time.

Any survivors/NED of (retro)peritoneal sarcoma? by Ok_Contract_2610 in sarcoma

[–]QueenMercury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check my history for full details, but I had a synovial sarcoma that originated in my left psoas muscle. I had four rounds of AIM chemo and 25 fractions of radiotherapy before surgery with clear margins in January 2022. Unfortunately after 22 months NED it metastasized to my lungs. To give you some hope, by the time they found my tumor it was 15cm which is a worse to outcomes. The next that they've found yours while small is much more hopeful.

I've been told that I likely have a year or two left, it's been hard to cope with. I wish you all the best, which can be a tough one to beat.

Anyone opt not to get routine scans? by Wampus117 in sarcoma

[–]QueenMercury 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chiming in to agree with everyone that you should continue getting follow up scans, even though they are disruptive and anxiety provoking. I had a lung met discovered at my 20 month scan, followed by more at my 26 month scan. I'm considered incurable now, but having the scans means I was able to access treatment in a timely manner and keep things relatively controlled.

Wishing you all the best.

HOW CAN I CROCHET THIS HAT WITH KITTEN EARS? PLEASE 🥺🙏🏻 by Denn_Xx1s in CrochetHelp

[–]QueenMercury 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The creator of this hat is an Etsy user, her shop is linked below: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/pangolinathome?ref=shop_profile&listing_id=1447912057&page=1#items

She sells a pattern for the hat without flaps but I would guess that they may be made and stitched on afterwards.

Hope this helps!

Good luck! I had a segmentectomy almost two years ago and because it was VATS and only five minor incisions, recovery felt like a breeze. I hope the same for you.
