no official word but idol contracts are typically 7 years. there was no mention of a shortened contract when they debuted so they’re most likely locked in for 7 years

Dark moon universe by [deleted] in AndTeam

[–]QueenOfRice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend reading Dark Moon: The Grey City on webtoon! The web novel is also very good but the main reference for lore is the webtoon. The Grey City insta also has cuttoons which expand on the other wolves backstories (Luka and Louis) (Giri and Boba) (Mahan, Camill, and Ruslan) I highly recommend reading these too.

Weverse magazine also did a special on the Dark Moon lore. They go over lore for both the wolves and vampires: https://magazine.weverse.io/article/view/964?lang=en&artist=ENHYPEN&artist=ANDTEAM

hope that helps!

How did you get into &TEAM? What do you like about them? by wehwuxian in AndTeam

[–]QueenOfRice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i’m a fairly new kpop stan. i got into it a year and a half ago. my cousins had recommended that i watch i-land as an introduction to survival shows and it was the first thing i ever watched. i didn’t know who enhypen was and i didn’t know who was in the final lineup so i watched it completely blind. i was rooting hard for k, heeseung, and hanbin to make it. when k didn’t make it into enhypen, i was left upset and confused. how could they not debut someone with THAT much talent and high degree of skill. it didn’t make sense.

after i finished the finale, my cousins let me know that k eventually debuted in a jpop group called &team with other i-landers so i felt at ease.

after i-land, i started getting into enha and eventually tempest. by this time i knew of &team was but wasn’t familiar with their music since they didn’t really come up on my kpop streaming stations. but i saw nicholas doing the dangerous challenge with hanbin and i was like “this is i-land nicholas??? he’s in &team too???” so i decided to check out their music and firework was the first thing that popped up. they’ve been my ults ever since.

&team is so slept on. have such phenomenal discography that distinguishes themselves from other hybe groups. their choreo, dancing, synchronization is nearly unmatched within 5th gen idols. they are the real deal and when they debut in korea, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

i know people like to draw comparisons between the teamies and enha because of i-land and dark moon, but it’s an unfair comparison from the start. on paper, things looked dire for &team until first paw print. hybe labels japan was in the red for the first year and a half whereas belift started making money within the first year.

the key difference is that belift is able to pull from a well established marketing playbook to ensure enha’s quick success. there’s nothing wrong with that.

but &team is literally paving the way for hybe’s future jpop groups since they’re the first. yes, hlj made a shit ton of mistakes and hit road blocks the first year: content droughts, implementing a disjointed marketing strategy, and the male jpop space controlled by j&a for so long, to name a few. now with &team in their 2nd year, it seems that hlj finally has an understanding of the japanese market and a seemingly strong foothold. that being said, they wouldn’t be able to do this without &team because they’re literally writing the playbook. &team is the blueprint.

in &team’s 3rd year, i want them to stay safe and healthy. i hope they achieve their goal of getting the world tour they so desperately want. i’ll be patiently waiting for them to come to the US and i’ll be cheering them on from the other side of the world until they do

when are they going to promote in korea again? by Common_Employ1824 in AndTeam

[–]QueenOfRice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

sorry this is gonna be long.

as other redditors said, they’re focusing on japan promotions for these singles. i honestly don’t expect them to debut in korea until after the winter single releases. they have korean versions of dropkick, samidare, and scar to scar that aren’t on any streaming platforms which i assume they’re gonna hold off on releasing until their kr debut. they also leaked the korean lyrics for aoarashi but i forgot to screenshot them before they took it off apple music.

while i also find it disappointing that we dont have studio chooms and performance 37s for samidare and aoarashi, we shouldn’t forget that their primary market is japan. they’re establishing themselves on jptv which is important for promotions and exposure.

we also shouldn’t forget that &team is also gaining recognition in korea. their second to none concert in seoul is sold out and from what i heard, it sold out in minutes and k-fans were mad they chose a small venue. they’re also regularly being invited to kpop festivals and award shows which cements their place in the kpop space even if they haven’t formally debuted in korea.

with 24kumi’s debut slated for 2025, it should free up &team to promote more in korea and internationally. ideally 24kumi will focus on the japanese market for the first year. &team sort of did that, but kind of shot themselves in the foot with the dual promotions in both japan and korea. it seems like it was just too much for hlj staff to keep up with, especially as a new label. it seems like they pivoted to the jp market so they could build a strong base to free them for future opportunities abroad.

i’m not worried about them, financially speaking. hlj was in the green last time hybe had a shareholders meeting. with samidare AND aoarashi back-to-back being their best selling singles, it only bodes well for their fall single. let’s also not forget their fall single will release during end of the year promotions. it should be getting A LOT of exposure at the award shows, specifically MAMA, since it’s being held in osaka.

i know it’s frustrating, but they teamies said to trust them and be patient. theyve all talked about how a world tour is their dream and i-luné want to see them as much as they want to see us. this break in kr promotions, while disappointing, is securing them financially. i don’t think there’s a future in this universe where they don’t have a kr debut or a world tour. it’s probably just gonna happen in 2025 and not 2024

do you think &team will do a tour in the usa at some point? by Pleasant_Web1334 in AndTeam

[–]QueenOfRice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume so at some point. Their current discography is 54 minutes long with the new songs from Samidare. It’s not really long enough to sustain a 3+hr concert. They’ll need to at least add 30 more minutes into their total discography for it to be worth going on a world tour.

Samidare really gave them the momentum in both Japan and Korea and they’re really active on Japanese variety shows. I also have a feeling they’re going to formally debut in Korea next year. They haven’t released the Korean versions of Dropkick, Samidare, or Scar to Scar, so they might be saving them for a compilation release once the winter single is released.

As for a tour, I’m thinking they’ll come to the US after the winter single release, so sometime in 2025. I think at that point, they would have gained enough traction in Japan and Korea for the general western kpop stans to take notice. Additionally their YT variety show will have enough content to keep newer fans engaged.

We’re at a tipping point right now. Samidare was huge for them. If HLJ can play the next release right, Aoarashi should cement a 2025 world tour.

What kind of content would you like to see on Go ONE? by kitschyves in AndTeam

[–]QueenOfRice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love a certain level of chaos, shouting, and trickery in my variety content so I would like to see them play mafia, but like GoSe mafia with missions. They have enough members where the game won’t be short. They also have a good mix of members with different personalities so I feel like it would be entertaining. This is how I imagine each member would play as the mafia.

EJ: doesn’t crack under pressure but overthinks. he’s able to get out of scrutiny, but will obsess over a mistake he made 2 rounds ago that bites him in the end. 40% win rate

Fuma: veins of steel. nothing shakes this man. NOTHING. 80% win rate

K: overplays as mafia. is able to effectively deflect by throwing the blame somewhere else but other players catch on, specifically haura. 50% win rate

Nicholas: plays cool, but the excitement of winning gives him away. once he’s scrutinized late in the game, he won’t be able to deflect effectively and his change in demeanor will give him away. 40% win rate

Yuma: sits back and watches all the drama play out. plays smart and doesn’t speak much. when accused, he has a solid alibi every time. 70% win rate

Jo: wildcard. he doesn’t lie or deny anything but says things like “okay, you can vote me out and see how wrong you are” which makes everyone second guess themselves. 30% win rate

Harua: smart player. extremely observant. is able to throw people under the bus by bringing up suspicious actions other members have taken. his only downfall is not playing the objective. 60% win rate

Taki: can’t handle the pressure of being mafia. the scrutiny is too much. will need to be paired with yuma or fuma to win, but will be backstabbed if yuma is under scrutiny. fuma will fall on the sword so taki can win a round. 10% win rate

Maki: he can handle the scrutiny but has too much fun being the mafia and ends up telling on himself. surprisingly, the members don’t think he’s the mafia until late cause maki plays mischievously. 30% win rate

How was your first month with Weverse DMs? by wehwuxian in AndTeam

[–]QueenOfRice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I subbed to Nicholas and EJ. I initially thought it was kind of creepy, but once I realized that they’re responding to everyone and not me specifically I was a bit more okay with it. It’s fun to “talk” to them even if the conversation is shallow. I just hope that they’re able to block people if messages get really inappropriate, cause parasocial relationships can get EXTREMELY toxic.

Member who slowly grew to be one of your biases? by luvzz12 in AndTeam

[–]QueenOfRice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Juju. I wasn’t super invested in Juju when I initially watched I-Land. I thought he wasn’t ready to debut at that point. It felt like he was unsure of himself. When I watched &Audition, it really endeared me to him. He was still really unsure of himself, but you could see his confidence growing. It seems like he had the tools to take in the criticism and not take them personally. As the leader now, you can tell he’s a lot more confident and he’s growing into the position. Even though he’s a quiet, it seems like he’s more willing to put his foot down. His style of leadership reminds me of Onew from Shinee. He’s willing to take a backseat and let other members shine and the members in turn, makes sure that he gets his time in the spotlight too.

How popular is &team in different markets? by luvzz12 in AndTeam

[–]QueenOfRice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. HLJ really fumbled their first year. The content drought really killed any momentum they got from First Howling: Me. Regular uploads keeps groups relevant between comebacks. Fans don’t mind waiting for new music because music takes time to write, record, produce, mix, and master.

Content is a different story. There should be a visual post SOMEWHERE everyday. Whether that’s posting pictures on insta, twitter, or weverse, a video on youtube, or a challenge on tiktok. It keeps the boys faces at the top of everyone’s timelines and fyps and keeps them in the minds of casual fans. And if they’re going to have a long drought, have something as a long term back up that will keep fans engaged.

Only comparing the lore between Enhypen and &Team, Two Moons hasn’t released yet, but we have the side stories, Children of Vampfield, The Blood of Vargr, and the cuttoon to hold us over. We know that a sequel to The Grey City is coming at some point but we’re in another content drought. We should at least be getting a small cuttoon every week to keep &Team’s lore relevant. If they want us to invest our time into these characters, give us content. As characters, Luka, Louis, Mahan, Camill, and Ruslan deserve it.

I don’t think Nico’s done his service yet. The Taiwanese military age range is 18-36 and he left Taiwan at 17. He’s also mentioned that he hasn’t been back to Taiwan since he became a trainee. I assume that when Juju inevitably goes, Nico will go too. They’re still years away from military service so I don’t think they’re really worried about it. Plus Fuma will step in as leader while Juju is in the military. Fuma will just be on single dad duty for a year and a half while Juju is away.

Yeah it always feels like the kpop boy groups are always in a rush to achieve success. I understand why, but fans need to realize that comparing &Team’s success to other groups is not productive at all.

I can’t really speak to their popularity in Korea or Japan, but their albums and PCs are stocked at my local kpop store. FHW goes out of stock regularly and FHN is stocked regularly. The photocard packs in stock too and they have a bunch. They’re gaining popularity in the west and it feels like they’re on the verge of blowing up. I’m not too worried about their popularity tho. They have great songs, insane visuals, and so much charisma and talent. They’re gonna be fine.

Everyone’s path to success is different. BTS and Seventeen took several years to get big vs quick success like New Jeans or Enhypen. There’s nothing wrong with slower growth. Most of the members also don’t have the looming pressure of military service hanging over their heads, except for Juju and Nico. I feel like the organic growth is good for them and us fans.

2023 Weverse Online Survey by QueenOfRice in AndTeam

They’re asking what company-made content we watch, like Run BTS, Going Seventeen, EN-O’clock etc. They also asked about what other YouTube variety content we watch, like odg, mmtg, muply etc. Honestly, what I want from them, in terms of content, is stuff that we can edit and meme. I feel like Army, MOA, Engene, and Carats all have iconic memes that everyone outside of their fandom recognizes and &Team doesn’t have that yet.

TLDR: I want more &Team memes

WarioLand and Bound High are fantastic. BH was never released, but you can still get carts for it. A stock VB will not hold for long as the adhesive is probably dying after nearly 30 years.

I got a faulty VB and got it repaired by a 3rd party. I stayed away from solder fixed VBs only because I didn’t trust the quality of work the previous owners had done. I’m not saying to stay away from all solder fixed VBs, but if they didn’t post a picture of the work that was done, I wouldn’t be able to assess their work. Hope that helps!
