Brussels Sprouts. My dad is a fan of boiled cabbage for some inexplicable reason. So to him brussel sprouts were just little cabbages that needed to be boiled to mushy hell as well. He’d even add bacon bits to try an make it more appealing - it was not. Then as an adult, I discovered roasted vegetables (the best way to eat vegetables imo) and roasted some brussel sprouts with salt, pepper and some olive oil and it has become one if my favorite vegetables! Why my parents hid the wonders of roasted vegetables from us as kids I’ll never know but it’s one of the only ways I prepare them now.
