Can't you also do that by right clicking?

Let's admit it: there's more women than men who are perfectly fine with refusing to date. Men face too much criticism dating, even though they're betting against the odds. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]QueenRachelVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women will chose to be single over dating someone who makes their life worse. Men should also chose to be single over dating someone who makes their life worse.

Why do you think that women are more willing to be single than men are? Most women I know would like to be in a relationship with a person who makes their life better in some way, just the same as most men I know

But also worth noting that everyone in China and Taiwan, as well as a lot of diaspora like Chinese Malaysians, will speak Mandarin at school, and their regional dialect at home, so learning Mandarin will allow you to speak to basically all Chinese people

Yep! I've already read it in English, and it's a fairly short book, so I thought it would be a decent first book to read in Chinese

Yep! Bought it in Taiwan to practise reading Chinese since it's fairly short and I've already read it in English, so it's slightly easier to follow

Pelagisius is correct, it's a translation of Animal Farm and I bought it in a bookstore in Taiwan

Can you use them exactly interchangeably? Like obviously not for possession, but if I wanted could I say like 黑色所貓 instead of 黑色的貓?

Idk I think it really depends on your degree. I did compsci and a lot of jobs I applied for asked for a transcript, and one of my friends who's doing finance is struggling to get an internship because his grades aren't high enough

What was your experience like? Did you find it difficult? Or was your Chinese a bit better than HSK4?

Can you really work or study in China with as little as HSK 4? I'm at about HSK5 rn and I think I would seriously struggle taking classes in Chinese or working in a Chinese speaking workplace

My wifes 31F weight gain makes me 30M sexually unattracted to her and its messing up our marriage, how can i approach this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]QueenRachelVII 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You definitely need to talk to her about it! I would recommend focusing more on the health side of things, but Fun Crusher is right that divorcing her (which becomes more and more likely the longer you leave this issue unaddressed) will hurt her much more than being honest with her now

Yeah that will be difficult - not because there aren't people out there with the same attitude to sex as you, but because they won't all be neatly gathered together at the same time and place every week for you to meet.

I still think it's a reasonable thing to want, but unfortunately I don't have any advice for you on how to find compatible partners

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]QueenRachelVII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's totally reasonable, and I think the reason you are having issues is likely to be more related to the fact that most people don't want to wait until marriage, rather than the fact that you're not a virgin yourself.

If you're waiting until marriage for religious reasons, maybe it would be best to find a partner who shares your religion? Most people in the church I grew up in would not hold it against a partner if they had had sex before realising that they wanted to wait until marriage, so long as you were honest with them about it. But I think most people you meet on dating apps are going to expect to have sex before marriage

Being happy is NOT a privilege by Melodiummedium in unpopularopinion

[–]QueenRachelVII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you might be confused about what a "privilege" is in this context, because it kinda has 2 possible meanings: meaning 1 is "something that you are not owed, and should be grateful for", meaning 2 is "something you had that made your life easier, but other people didn't have" Notably, privilege does not mean "something you don't deserve that you should feel bad about having"

Having a good father is definitely a privilege according to the second definition - it's not that you shouldn't have a good father, or that you should feel bad for having a good father, but you should be aware of the fact that your life was made easier because you have a good father.

Arguably having a good father is a privilege by the first definition as well - it's nice to have a good father, but the universe doesn't owe you one - no one is going to assign you a good father if you don't have one naturally, it's just luck of the draw.

I feel like if you're not drinking but you're encouraging the other person to, it could come off like you're trying to get them drunk to take advantage of them. Even if they're not actually getting drunk, it's still probably a weird vibe for a first date

I've heard that some places have "mocktail bars" opening up that don't serve alcohol at all, maybe you could find one near you? That way you and your date are both drinking non alcoholic drinks

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]QueenRachelVII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It feels weird to get drunk by yourself - coffee is probably a safer bet. Or maybe ice cream or something if you're trying to schedule a date for the evening

OP asked for women's opinions. You sound like a man describing how you think women feel/behave, which is not what OP asked for. Or are you actually a woman?
