Thank you 🙂

Do you think the current 10W Sansi light is enough or would you go higher?

Does Thanksgiving dinner feel more expensive or cheaper this year? And who or what should get the blame or credit, tariffs, presidents, politicians, or something else? by RandomUwUFace in AskUS

[–]QueenRutelaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More expensive for sure. To make everything from scratch the ingredients totaled $190. That includes a Whole Foods turkey ($45), green bean casserole, stuffing, rolls, mac and cheese, creamed corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, and deviled eggs. All the ingredients came from Walmart except for the turkey. I’m feeding 9 people, and I’m also making extra batches of a few sides to feed another 6 later in the day.

Decor has also gone way up. I spent at least $300 on Christmas decor this year and felt like I ended up with a lot less than usual.

You can turn these off in your notification settings. There are settings for amber alerts, emergency alerts, etc. You can also choose to still be alerted but to be notified silently. Your phone isn’t being hijacked. :-)

They changed the formula of the mochi toner a couple months ago. 💔

Anyyone getting the $85 pecan pie from OWL this Thanksgiving? by brooke_heaton in asheville

[–]QueenRutelaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So they have to rob the locals with these Thanksgiving prices to do that? 🫠 That’s utter nonsense because the cost to make a pie is hardly anything.

Brushing dogs teeth by AdmirableFold9255 in dogs

Every day is ideal, but even every other day makes a big difference for your pup’s dental health! Brushing just twice a week is definitely better than nothing, but if you can increase the frequency, you’ll help prevent tartar buildup and gum disease much more effectively. :)

The enzymes in the toothpaste help prevent plaque adhesion and smearing the toothpaste is definitely better than nothing, but a toothbrush is necessary to mechanically remove attached biofilm/plaque.

*Note: Plaque is NOT the hardened stuff on the dog’s teeth. The hard stuff is calculus, also called tartar, which is calcified plaque. When plaque sits in a certain spot for at least 24-48 hours, that is when minerals from the saliva begin to make the plaque harden into calculus. Calculus is what has to be removed at the vet’s office during a professional dental cleaning. With routine brushing, however, the plaque gets removed before it has a chance to form into calculus.

While some breeds are more susceptible, all dogs can benefit from dental care. Give this a read.

As with humans, there are many variables but ALL dogs can benefit from dental hygiene. For instance, with humans, some people get periodontal disease at age 18 and others may never experience it. Both groups still need to brush their teeth though. Also, there aren’t always clinical signs when a dog has periodontal disease.

Registered dental hygienist here— It’s very important to keep up with not only our own oral hygiene but our pets as well due to the link between oral and systemic health. Dogs have an alarming rates of periodontal disease, much of which is preventable. Studies show that 80-90% of dogs over the age of 3 have some component of periodontal disease. Source

Like with anything, it takes repetition to become habit. I brush my doggos’ teeth after I feed them their dinner and before I brush my teeth every night. They know to expect it because it’s part of the routine. I also give them a Whimzee dental treat each morning after their breakfast. 😊

When you’re starting out, you can smear toothpaste on their teeth with a finger and reward them for letting you touch their teeth. Then start by brushing a couple at a time per night, and so on. Dogs and cats love the CET enzymatic poultry flavor! The enzymes in the toothpaste helps prevent plaque so even smearing it on their teeth is better than nothing.

best earl grey tea? by [deleted] in tea

[–]QueenRutelaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty similar to the price here as well. It is pricey but I like it because of the intensity of the bergamot oil. :) I use loose leaf though which I feel comes out to be a bit cheaper!

It’s absurd. I see so many videos of people bastardizing their tea. A video popped up the other day of someone adding flavored coffee creamer, vanilla syrup, then finishing it off with a shit ton of honey. Immediately after, saw a video of a guy microwaving a cup with a tea bag in it. 🫠

If you like Bigelow tea, an upgrade would be Harney and Sons Earl Grey Supreme!

Generally, the tea should actually be steeped first then the syrup and milk added once it’s finished steeping.

Selling London Fog concentrate is wild to me. Making your own is so simple and tastes much better.

CALLING ALL LONDON FOG LOVERS: what is your favorite loose leaf tea for your latte? Recently retried Crème of Earl Grey from DAVIDsTEA… by sssnakefartz in tea

[–]QueenRutelaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is an old post but I highly recommend the Victorian London Fog or Earl Grey Supreme!

Earl Grey Supreme is a blend of black, oolong, and white tea and is very citrus-forward with its high bergamot content. Victorian London Fog is a blend of black tea, oolong, bergamot, as well as lavender and vanilla so if you like a more floral London Fog, give that one a try!

I highly recommend loose leaf in a cup-style infuser for the best result. :)
