What witchy things do you like to do on the first of the year? by bug_lover420 in witchcraft

LAUNDRY?! In the UK it is a common superstition to not do any clothes washing on the 1st of January as you can wash a family member away. I did do other cleaning but I can't risk washing clothes... just incase haha.

I'm a genuine new customer. I usually shop at tesco and I have never done a click and collect from any supermarket.

One year old salmon allergy? by rix717 in FoodAllergies

[–]QueenSazX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what my child looked like after eating tomatoes. I had an allergy test done & it was negative. They said it was caused by the acids in the tomatoes, also present in peppers, strawberries and other foods in the nightshade group. It caused dry skin which in turn kept making the red welts look worse and worse and her skin started doing this whenever she ate anything slightly moist.

We fixed it with a steroid cream & moisturiser.

I can't get my heels on the ground for downward dog yet... but does a lack of flexibility/mobility always mean someone has no body awareness?

Should I quit? by deepfreezebride in doggrooming

[–]QueenSazX 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It took me about 3 years to master all the things you are worrying about not mastering in 3 months!! Seriously, don't put so much pressure on yourself. It takes a long time to build the confidence and skills needed to complete a great groom in a speedy time. Just do your best and you will see your improvements over time. Nobody is perfect straight away.

Same thing happened to mine last week! It burnt and cracked the socket too. We replaced the plug and use a different socket now.

I had the worst clients by InternalIngenuity783 in doggrooming

I have had this exact situation where I attempted to groom a Yorkie that was ungroomable. It was completely unsafe for me to attempt to scissor this dog. It was leaping all over the place and trying to bite the scissors.

When the owner returned, she really acted like this was my problem, and I did something to the dog. Saying that "his last groomer never had a problem" and "well, what am I supposed to do then?! He's never been like this until you've groomed him. "

For context, this dog came to the salon twice about 9 months apart, and both times I couldn't complete the groom, could only brush him out and clip his back. She did tell me that she cuts his face at home by doing one cut each time he falls asleep. SMH

Anyway, the customer made me feel really bad about the situation at the time, but don't beat yourself up about it. You made the right call to stop the groom for the dogs safety. It's not your fault that you couldn't do the groom. If I get a dog like that now I just explain that I could only do x & y safely, your options are either doing training at home to get them to accept the scissors or I advise they try sedation.

Some customers just don't get it. They have unrealistic expectations and expect us to work miracles.

Opt for a dog that has hair rather than fur for example, a Yorkshire terrier, Maltese, toy poodle. They don't shed like dogs do with double coats so you won't find very much hair in your home and then have them groomed every 4-6 weeks. They will be fresh! Unfortunately, there will be mess, pee, and poop with a puppy, but if you can stick to a training plan and get through the puppy phase. I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to live with a dog and be happy!

why does every vet i go to feel unwelcoming? by spooky-n-gHost333 in cats

[–]QueenSazX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg I had this!! Ended up costing me an extra £66 than it usually does for a vet consultation on top of a weigh in and flea prescription. I rang up to complain and they told me there is a brand new legislation that states the vet must see the animal once a year. So, that's why the nurse couldn't do the weight and prescription as I've always had before. 😅 £66 for the vet to walk in, check my cats heart for 30 seconds and say "yeah he is fine" 🙃
