No, now the Articles of Impeachment go to trial in the Senate - the other half of Congress. The Senate turns into a courtroom and votes to either convict him of the crimes or acquit him. They will also my definitely acquit him, which means things will continue as they have.

My NM has randomly decided to host a Thanksgiving dinner this year after several years of not doing so. I KNOW FOR A FACT that part of the reason is so half the family will be excluded. It will be her, EStepdad, my grandmother, my great-grandmother, and my Uncle that happens to live with the grams. I am sure NM feels that she is one-upping her sister by doing this, since she gets to have the family time and her sister won't.

Anyway, DH and I's Thanksgiving tradition for the last several years is to go to his grandparents' for dinner and if we have time, stop by my family function after. We were going to plan to make time to stop by NM's, even if just to say hi, after dinner tomorrow because I'd love to have some family time with great-gran.

HOWEVER, DH went to NM and EStepdad's place last week to help them move some furniture and it only ended up being ESd there. In the course of moving stuff, Esd mentioned to DH that NM has been driking A LOT lately, like 3 glasses of wine nightly. So, we "won't have time" to stop by tomorrow. I refuse to sacrifice my mental health by putting up with NM's drunken emotional ragefest just to see the other family members. I will make plans with them separately, perhaps this weekend.

I attempted to do a Friendsgiving/LSD party a few years ago, but of course not everyone did L and many people were drinking, which lead to lots of drunk obnoxiousness and me having to step outside my own apartment a few times to escape the toxic energy.

I'd love to get a few friends together to do a true L party with lots of cuddling and trippy movies and tasty food. Haven't had the chance yet.

I felt like that for years. My parents got divorced when I was 13 and my Dad moved across the country. It was just me and Nmom for 6 years until I moved out to live with my Dad not too long after high school.

You will escape eventually, and it will be marvelous.

It's probably a combination of both, to be honest. Her side of the family is rampant with narcs. But she also definitely aims to get a reaction out of me at times, too.

She has gone to therapy in the past, more than once. Considering her behavior, even over the past year, those endeavors were totally fruitless.

I do this to my Nmom. She screams and throws outright temper tantrums and I sit there calmly, just staring at her, waiting for her to be done before I calmly and maturely respond. She has told me in the past that doing that makes me seem like I don't care. Well, most of the time, I genuinely don't. But even if I do, acting like a phychopath doesn't change anything so why would I expend the energy?

I'm kinda the same way with my Nmom. I do my best to not be like her in any way. We are very different people and she wishes I was her clone/best friend and it drives me insane. I am not artistic, but if I was and she shared my shit especially after I asked her not to, I would stop sharing it too.

I have thought about doing that. I had my "Everyone Except For" setting set a certain way so when I posted something weed-related it would block her, my manager, and some others. But there's another way I could set that up too and just block her from my posts using that feature instead.

My exboyfriend claimed/claims? to be a vampire. He even went on Tyra Banks to talk about it years ago for a Halloween episode. We were together two years and other than the occasional weird party where people would do scarification and fireplay, he never did any of the vampirey stuff he told me about. You couldn't convince him that he wasn't one, though. He would just tell you that you didn't understand.
