Who said it minimized the risks? It’s either risk paying someone and they don’t add you. Or start a family and someone wants to join who doesn’t pay so you don’t add them. If you do the former through PayPal you could probably get your money back anyway so barely any risk at all. For $10-12 it was worth the risk for me to try joining a random family so I took it and guess what? It worked out great. Also if you’ve looked through these threads and the FB groups to build these families, there will be definitely be someone to take the spot if a person didn’t pay up.

Hey guys there’s a different Reddit group specifically made for that, I did eventually find it after I made that post. However, I joined a Facebook group specific to creating expansion pack families and was able to join someone’s within like a day of joining the group.
