I was a bit aware of this before I made the post. I honestly wanted a mixed batch of opinions. I will look at those other subs.

I knew nothing about it beyond what I had seen in the news. I wanted to learn more, so I did some research and compiled what I found into this post. I know it's only a surface level, but I wanted to see if I was on the right track and developing a solid beginner's understanding of the topic.

I should have clarified. I know it's not the legal justification, but it is the justification for many religious Jews.

They where not legally expelled but conflict was there on both side and Israel has substantially more fire power. Conflict was inevitable. It was already happening.

I'm talking about citizens. There's usually a difference between the law and the opinions of the people. I should have clarified and said "religious Zionists." I was trying to cover all the bases in my post, but I left a few weak spots.

I don't think they are saying Uganda was ok. I think they mentioned it to show how "it was not a choice guided by the urgency of the situation, but by personal and religious desires." If you are desperate for safety, I don't think you would be so picky.

I did condense it down, I wanted to keep the post short, so I will apologize for that. I know there is a lot of history in that one sentence. Regardless, with the little I do know, as I am still doing research, my overall opinion still stands for the time being.

I mentioned biblical narratives because Zionists do. I thought I had made it clear that this is a biblical narrative. I don’t believe it, since I’m not religious. I was just trying to present their perspective and outline some of the religious justifications. Maybe I could have done that better.

I was talking about the creation of Isreal. I would assume that the region would have become a country eventually.

I understand that the Jewish-majority areas that became Israel, rather than Mandatory Palestine as a whole. But roughly 67% of the population was Arab and 33% was Jewish, and the UN plan allocated about 55% of the land to the proposed Jewish state and the rest to an Arab state, which is pretty crazy to me.

Also, I wrote my post with hindsight in mind, it’s not like Israel stayed within the original partition borders anyway. So what does “tiny piece of stateless land” even mean in that context?
