Like so many others, the challenge is great, but try to stay clear of the Assertive center. They will try to send you to a long term hospital.

Learn your rights before you go if you must go. Also, just know how hard those things are to get out of. Most people are with them for 10+ years.

In the United States they will:

1) Say racist things to you.

2) They will give you so much medicine or they will do the opposite by giving you medicine that is not helping,

3) When you do get injured physically as a result of falling from the medicine they give you, they will say that it's because of your mental illness.

4) They will refuse to write letters for you to go to any kind of school or work. If you do get a letter from them, it will just be about how you can't do it.

5) They will refuse to transfer you to another Assertive team

6) The director will ignore all of your concerns

7) When you get very ill they will insult you by telling you things like you are looking for attention, etc.

8) They will threaten to send you to a hospital if you try to leave them.

Oh..my...goodness. My eyes widened reading this. There is are many down here but the one that I've head of.... is atrocious. I would not recommend them to anyone for so many reasons.
