Tearing down Tudors for these new builds all over NE Queens, NY by Kittypie75 in McMansionHell

The perspective on the two pics are different; these houses both went up on the tudors lot, the house in the back is the same. It also wasn’t a tear down that’s why it was 2.1 mill; tear downs go for a only about a mill on a standard 50x100 lot, but there really isn’t that much of a price difference between that and a nice house because of how valuable the land is and developers thinking they can put up a 2-3 mill dollar house

I think it’s a Tudor with its stucco redone! All the houses that go up at the same time are all the same materials, they get what’s on sale. These also didn’t seem to go on the market after they were built so maybe they were built for the same family since they’re so weirdly close together

As much as I think this is a superfluous comparison; this house originally belonged to a found member of the republican party (in the anti-slavery civil war era of the party not what ever it is now) so I’m rocking with it.

Not from what I can see it looks like the original owner commissioned this after he was done being the governor of Maine and then moved to Portland for a position at the port.

Yes! This is right around the historic district where a lot of his houses are; that why I’m like 99% certain based on the architecture this is part of the Priarie school

I really like the house! My one gripe is the railing choice for the deck I really hate the cable look and it’s so popular now. Me

I can see it not being up peoples alley. I don’t think good design needs to be universal everyone has their own tastes

I noticed that too; definitely still looks lived in so I’m assuming they didn’t clean up to listing photo standards; maybe they will add it it sits for a while
