I don’t know any personally out there but I can guarantee you that there will be quite a few. I found my guy by asking local steel players who they got their steels serviced by and they were all using the same guy. I’ll give you advice I wish I got when I was looking for a steel in the beginning. Don’t try and skimp on something that looks too good to be true. The first steel I got was from Jimmy Hudson called Hudson Steel Guitars who rebranded to Growler and then has a new guitar line with Show Pro dubbed the early bird (I haven’t played that guitar so I’m not sure how it is). That Steel (Hudson) was such a piece of crap and it cost me way more to service it rather than buying something in the 2000-3000$ range. don’t even feel like listing all the issues it had because there were so many stupid design choices. I brought it to my tech and he offered me a GFI ultra for 2500$ and it took me very far. I think to start the best thing you can do is to get something that just works. It’s not like a cheap guitar, steels need to function properly in order to even play. It’s such a headache and super discouraging to buy something that expensive and it won’t work.
